1994 Nissan Hardbody 4x4

Over 300 miles on it since I changed the timing stuff and its working good I'm trying to figure out if I should advance or retard timing to see if I can get it to have better MPG. Its not terrible I think its about 16 right now.

I didn't fully tighten one of the radiator hoses so that's been leaking fluid slowly. I didn't get around to doing it because its been so cold and I have to take the power steering pump off to tighten it but I'll probably do that tomorrow.

Wow the timing was at 25 degrees!! And it was even higher before I changed the chain... I didn't let it warm up long enough before.. now I got it at 15 degree's and now its even more powerful.

I'll check it again once its used to make sure its on.

But boy.. thats why it didn't quite seem to have the power it was suppose to have and thats why it wasn't getting the MPG or getting very warm.

Yeah well I'll see how it goes... me and my brother went on a 180 or so mile trip in it without even filling up on gas except when we got back to our town. And it didn't seem to use oil at all. But its been pretty cold this last week and my brother has been using it to go to his work 40 mile round trip and it seems to be using oil from that.

I dunno why it is using oil either its not like its really smoking or anything.. its probably like the Dodge haha that thing used oil too but didn't smoke.. it spit out oil though. I'm guessing all that means its going out the exhaust valve stem.

Haha I'm a dope I was being retard when I did the timing I forgot the first mark was -5 degrees and so I had it at 5 degrees. And I probably though it had more power because the ground was frozen so it spun tires easy. Its at the real 15 degrees and finally no more coolant or oil leaks!!

I got the ball joints and CV axles replaced! It was easier then I thought. Almost forgot the grease seal ring for the axles so I had to take the one side partly apart again to put it on. just unbolted the top ball joint and took the hub off.. Easy! lol.

I  tried lowering it 1 inch but it effected the camber too much so I'll just have to wait until I get the tie rods replaced and get it aligned.

Couple days ago after I helped him work on his car some. My brother was bragging about how fast his car is and how he beats mustangs. He has a 1999 Honda Accord V6 3.0 VTEC with a cold air intake he is so proud of lol.

He was asking about a place to race so I suggested the county road. I left the truck in 2wd.

I half throttled it. Said 1 2 3 go and let off the clutch then gassed it.. He just floored it. I immediately pulled ahead of him shifted into 2nd gear and got to about 45mph before getting to a curve.. It wasn't a very long straight we have very curvy roads lol. He was full of excuses like no traction, it was only a car length. Lol

Guess what winning is winning and I was in 2wd too bud. Haha.  These trucks haul ass in 1st and 2nd and then they just kinda suck lol.

Bled the brakes which took about 5 hours lol. I was having problems doing it at first. Finally just sucked all the old fluid out of the reservoir and cleaned that out put new fluid in. Pumped it up bled it a bit more and it works better now! I can almost swear the last owner was a idiot and put automatic transmission fluid in the brake reservoir. There was moisture in there too. And junk lol. But that all should be out of it now for the most part anyway.
