82turbo720 Posted November 28, 2014 Report Share Posted November 28, 2014 Hi guys im putting back together my z22 from my 1982 720 and i was wondering how do i reference the oil pump shaft to the worm drive on the crank snout? I have done them on small block chev's but all u have to do is turn the shaft with a screw driver i dont believe i can do the same here. please help! i think im just over thinking it! datzenmike Posted November 29, 2014 Report Share Posted November 29, 2014 With the engine at TDC compression on number one cylinder and the distributor and oil pump removed.... Install drive spindle as in this picture below while looking down into the distributor hole from the driver's side fender... Take note that there are two half moon sizes on the spindle top.
