Roadster air box fitting to a 510 with su carbs

Air horns are slightly larger. If that will make much difference I can use a stronge epoxy to build and resize the air horn bore to match. I am planning on fiddling with this over the weekend. Closing the gap that exists on the mounting measurements. Likely cutting the mounting area and sliding inward then weld, detail grind and clean up repair. Wow, this should be easy. I don't think I will cut spot welds and seperate all parts. Just cut through both layers as a unit. This will move the horns inward a little over a 16th. Can't imagine this to make much difference. Please correct me if you have a better idea.

I have done that a few time ,cut 1/4" and weld back together , only had to drill one hole for outer cover mount, to mount down ,or I made aluminum flat cover for air cleaner .

My plan is to try and have it look as stock as possible. Aluminium plate covers are a really cool custom look though.

A12 with gx manifold is 7 1/8 from center to center on main bores.

Make that closer to 7 1/16"

Box has been cut and welded back. Now do I need a single resivour break master?

Box interferes with the master. I feel like I'm changing the spark plugs through the tail pipe.

Haha yep... Guna need a single master or additional mods to the box. My aluminum plate box is tight at 2.25" deep.

I got say Joel, you got a pretty nice box. HaHa. If I can't find a single res master I will copy yours. If there's no copy wright on it.

Looks like the lines will interfere. Can I drill and tap then mover the lines to the other side. That would solve the problem. Or a 90 fitting to snug the line closer to the master.

Jayrock, the pictures you posted of the red car have the bleed lines on the outside of the master. Did you move them? If not, what car is that master from? Fender looks like a 521.

its a truck so my comments are just sattire as a ruse to make this like the ratsuns facebook page... haven't tried them on a car ... either way i love the look ... really wanted a sss aircleaner but i like te open look of a roadster air cleaner

I have a single master cylinder designed for the 510 using SU's if your interested hell I'll never use it as I'm running ZX stuff.

Nuclear water boy, thanks for your offer and I may take you up on that. I found shorter bleed nipples but the clearance is still a little tight for my comfort. But at least for now it fits with out a filter in it. I think the 240z master has the bleeds on the other side. Still looking into things.
