Removing and installing wing window

Recommended Posts

So I got some new wing window rubber and want to install it without cutting it. I started trying to take the window out but can't seem to get it out. Any one had success with this that can walk me through it. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

You pretty much have to take everything else out of the door to get the wing window out.

Take out door latch mechanism, including outside lock cylinder, and door handle.

Remove main window lower stop, remove door glass regulator.  Allow door glass to go to the bottom of the door.

Carefully pry up the two felt "fuzzys" on the inside, and outside ot the main window glass.

Remove the four screws on the front sloped edge of the door window frame, and the two screws that hold the front main window track.

The wing window frame can mnow be moved to the rear, and then slid out of the door.

We bought them from this guy.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DATSUN-NISSAN-1300-1500-520-521-PICK-UP-UTE-SEDAN-DOOR-1-4-VENT-WINDOW-RUBBER-/121219473123?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c393e5ee3

Be aware that it is OK to buy from this vendor threw ebay, at least so far it has been OK, but do not do any private deals with him, he has fucked over people for thousands of dollars in the recent past.

Just curious, did you guys get your weather strips from Scott's Old Rubbers? (it's not a joke, that really is the name of the shop)
