Throwout Bearing Sleeve Clearance ??

I rounded up a throwout bearing sleeve for the trany swap on our 320 but there's way too much clearance between the sleeve inside diameter and the outside diameter of the input shaft sleeve of the transmission. The T.O. sleeve I.D. is 1.305 dia. and the input sleeve I.D. is 1.140 dia. That calculates to .165 difference or about 4.1mm . I got the T.O. sleeve from Kentigo in Mexico on Ebay. Wuality is good, just not the right one for my application. Bushing, boring, & machining will make it work; I just need some clearance figures.

It's been a real bitch collecting enough trinkets to marry the 1965 floor-shift trany to the column-shift pickup. Clearances should be in the same range regardless of the vehicle. I'm guessing .005-.010 clearance outta do it. Help me out if you have some trany stuff laying around. Attached is a photo of my dilemma. Thanks

Steve

I don't think it will matter much.....

well I checked some 71B fits and is a closer than I thought. Slides easily enough, certainly not a close fit, but not as loose as what you have. The inside of the sleeve has a small cavity for grease.
