any chance the firing order is wrong? sounds stupid, but it's totally possible. I thought the distributor went one way, but went the other.

easyiest way to check is to pull one spark wire from the distributor and see if it bogs or dies down. if the idle is NOT affected by pulling a wire you'll know that's where the problem is.

mine would idle and slightly rev, but trying to move it would die.

On the throttle (misspelled before) body. It sits at the mouth of the intake manifold. You'll see a wire plugged into it. If it has issues it will be sending wrong, or no information to the ECU when you rev the motor. If you don't have a consult port device, search online and you'll find a diagnostic procedure to text it with a multimeter.

Unplug the wire and check resistance between the #1 and #2 terminals. Move the throttle by hand and see if the resistance changes. If so it's good.

To be totally honest, and I'm speaking from experience, KA doesn't usually have TPS issues. Wouldn't waste your time with that until you diag al the simple stuff.

Let's start off by checking and Check Engine codes.

Go to your ECU. Look on the side where a green and red LED are. See that little screw thing?

Turn your ignition to "key on engine off" nowrotate that screw fully clockwise. Wait 2 seconds, rotate fully counter clock wise. The light will start blinking.

Count the blinks.

One long --- followed by one short - is code 11

Ie., flashes :

--- --- --- - - - - -

^ code "35"

Please let me know what codes are there.

If you are getting a code "35" that is code for "OK".

Start here first, and I'm willing to help.
