ProsperPerformance
I ordered a front sway bar from MadDat for our B210ZX race car project. We swapped in a KA24E front sump and needed an upgraded front sway anyway. Unfortunately, the sway bar shipped by MadDat does not fit my B210. The overall length is correct, but the D-bracket/bushing mounting locations are off by about 2 inches on each side. The sway bar mounting locations on my B210 are 28" apart. The mounting points on the sway bar shipped by MadDat is only 24" apart. I contacted MadDat & they confirmed that they shipped me the correct 120Y/B210 front sway bar & said that the Australian spec 120Y mounting locations are 24" apart. Am I missing something? Why would the Australian version frame rails/mounting points be any different that the US version? (unless we are talking about 2 completely different vehicles) Has anyone else had any problems with the MadDat sway bars? Quote Link to comment

beaver
In Australia (And New Zealand where I am), a 120Y/B210 is one of these I suspect that in the USA, your B210 is one of these? In which case the sway bars are different. If you car as as the first picture, then ignore me as I can not offer any ideas as to why it wont fit. Quote Link to comment
Lonestar
Nope, he's got a legit B210, not a US 210. His even has the widebody kit on it. I'd say wait for John, Mike or GG to chime in, they would know for certain why it's not working. edit: The pic of the blue car is the body style right after the B210 and was just called the 210 in the US with 310 being the front wheel drive US car. beaver
Ah right, as you were. Just had a read through the build, from what I can tell you have used a different sub-frame and LCA's? Surely that will mean the stock bar wont fit, in which case an aftermarket for the same car obviously wont work either? I may be completely off thew mark here Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Probably the engine cross member. The LCAs attach to it also, but the sway bar mounts forward of it. Quote Link to comment
beaver
ahhh woops I misread the first post. I though he was talking about where it attaches to the sway bar links on the LCAs, but he is talking about the brackets. So yes, they should be the same regardless of what you have swapped. ProsperPerformance
Very misleading on MadDat's part,.. because they show a picture of a US B210 on their 120Y/B210 parts page - http://maddat.com.au/120y.php F-ME!... Back to square 1... Looks like I'll either need to fab a new mounting point on the frame rails 2" inner on each side... Or find another sway bar that actually fits the stock mounting locations with my KA front sump swap.... & then sell the MADDAT sway bar I received. Anyone know where I can find a good sway bar for a B210 with a KA24E front sump swap? Next race is November 14th, 15th & 16th in Houston. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Anyone know where I can find a good sway bar for a B210 with a KA24E front sump swap? I'd take a tape measure to the junkyard. ^_^ 80-83 200SX would probably be a good stating point... Or '78-81 510... Quote Link to comment
