deerio
Hey all, figured I should make a contribution instead of just asking for help. I didn't see this posted but just letting everyone know: Les Schwab powdercoats for $20-30/rim (that's including the sandblasting). They have a limited selection of colors which can be seen in this PDF: http://we2rv.com/ThingStuff/lesschwab.com_PowderCoating.pdf It took about 7 total days for me to get them back. Of course the quality isn't top notch but for the price I'm fairly happy. It sucks that they used the valve stem hole for the hanger cuz then there's a blank spot there, but I didn't want to go thru the hastle of having them redo it. I would've rather they used a lug hole if possible so that it could be covered up by a hubcap. The front and rear face coating is decent. The coating between the beads however is fairly thin. I'm not sure if they all go to Oregon but as far as I know the ones in WA sends them over there. All 5 wheels (including the spare) ran me about $135. I mounted a new set of Hankook Optimo H724 195/75/14 and they seem to be holding air just fine so far. 1 Quote Link to comment
Just Joel
Sounds about right... Had my spare wheel done locally by my less than favorite powder coater for $25 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
Ol Jdong has always been decently priced for us Ratsun folk, he knows the Ratsun budget. (Jrock for those of you who don't know who I'm talking about) 1 Quote Link to comment
graveltrapp
Sounds like rock should jump into bed with one of the local outlets to handle the rush jobs or for there premium treatment. Thanks for sharing that tip as most powder coasters tend to be way outside of the city limits where as L. Schwabbs are around every corner. On the flip side to that is that I don't think that JR would have let the valve stem blooper make it past Q.C. I have seen his work and it's top notch. Quote Link to comment
deerio
That's pretty much the reason I went for them... There's 3 shops within 3miles of my house. I'm sure there's other outfits that can do a better job ( I sure hope so). But the convenience and price for a temporary need sealed the deal for me. Ultimately it's going to be re-done a custom color but that's years from now when the truck is hopefully further along and painted. Quote Link to comment
