cr83 Posted October 7, 2014 Report Share Posted October 7, 2014 hi i am regasketing my l18 and upon inspection of the timing cover i noticed that the oil pump drive is wearing into the timing cover towards the distributor, has anyone else ran into this? i am going to try using copper shims on the drive shaft in the worn area to put it back into position as seen in the pic. is there a different fix for this problem? thanks Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted October 7, 2014 Report Share Posted October 7, 2014 Can't see how the spindle is moving upwards when it is already up against the bottom of the distributor, or should be. This is the first time I have heard of this happening. Make sure the spindle isn't jammed down into the oil pump drive. 1 Quote Link to comment
