banzai510(hainz)
this is what I would do. take it to Jiffy Lube. Then ask them how many quarts they put in(or look on receipt) Then youll know really you should know already since you havent changed the oil yourself and should be on the receipt how many quarts Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It will be in your vehicle owners guide booklet in the glove box. I can tell you for sure when I get home tonight or wayno will chime in. If I was doing it as you are I would buy 5- 6 quarts and a fliter... ALWAYS replace the filter. Drain the old oil and swap a new filter on. Add at least 4 quarts and fire it up for a few seconds to fill the empty filter. Shut it ff and check the dip stick. Keep adding and checking untill it reaches the fill line. Now you know. Any extra oil is never wasted and can be used to top up your oil between oil changes. 1 Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
this is what I would do. That it to Jiffy Lube. Waste of money and possibly your engine. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Five and three eighths US quarts. (5 3/8) so 6 wasn't far off. This is with a filter change, highly recommended. Make sure you get a good diesel formula oil. It is not nearly the same as a gas engine. API SE/CC, SF/CC, SE/CD, SF/CD or CD 1 Quote Link to comment
