PinoyDat210
I need to remove and replace my timing cover and in order to do that I need to remove my pulley off of my a14. How do I remove and install without disturbing the engine?? Thanks Quote Link to comment
DanielC
Remember the engine turns clockwise, viewed from the front. Get a wrench, that fits the bolt on the crank pulley. Put the wrench closed end on the crank pulley nut, and on a crossmember or something solid in the front of the engine compartment. MAKE SURE THE WRENCH IS SET TO NOT MOVE, WHEN THE ENGINE TURNS CLOCKWISE! Bump the starter. Another method is to put the car in fourth gear, and set the emergency brake hard. That might hold the engine from turning. Quote Link to comment

Take a couple of bolts, stick them into the other end of the crank then use a pry bar to keep the crank from turning as you loosen the pulley bolt. Quote Link to comment
