Datsun620longbed
Can anyone tell me if an inline 6 out of a 280zx would fix in a 620? Quote Link to comment
Guest Rick-rat
You would need to do a lot of work, cut out the firewall to put it in the engine compartment. It will fit in the bed quite nicely though, wouldn't be for power, just to say you have an inline six in your 620 Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
i think the v6 motor would be a better fit. but you'll still be doing a lot of work Quote Link to comment
dr.feltersnatch
Can it be done? Yes. If it was cheap and easy you would see 620s with 6 cyl everywhere. Its a lot of work for not that much gain. Better to do a ka swap. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
No it does not fit. With much work it can be made to fit but there are very few ways to get it right and an infinite number of ways to total the vehicle. If you love your truck don't do it. It has been done, and quite well, but not easy or cheap. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/64040-720zx-time-to-finish-it/ Instead look at a KA24E or KA24DE. It's a well documented 4 cylinder swap with about the same power and better mileage. Oh.. and it fits. At the risk of seeming rude please check out our search function on the upper right. I typed in KA engine swap into 620 and got this... http://community.ratsun.net/topic/37-ka24e-into-a-620/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/48249-ka24de-datsun-620-swap/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/28871-ka24de-swap/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/21082-620-engine-swap/ http://community.ratsun.net/topic/38383-620-ka24-motor-mount-brackets/ ... and ten more pages.
