Hi Wayno no its not finished yet and sorry for delay in replying but been busy on other stuff.

And Peter I didn't modify the oil pan or front suspension. Only a cut and shut on the 280 engine mount brackets to pick up the rubber mounts.

Here are pictures of the body paint job I did over the winter at my friends place. Should keep it protected until i'm completely happy with it.

Thanks for your kind words Mike, I to had to look them up. Ha!!!

Yes it is the original ZX rad, had it re-cored and shortened by 3" to fit. Also brazed in a fitting to accept a temp switch for the electric fan.

I do have an original grill but will be making my own to suit the 7" round headlights. (Hope that answers one of your questions Wayno)

To answer WI 720 Question. As Mike mentioned the dash is from the ZX. Fits pretty neat after cutting the front radius and fabricating the transmission tunnel to support the centre console.

I did use the ZX wiring harness only to chop up so to keep the colour coding right. Re-wired the truck from scratch using all components needed from the ZX. It is 95% complete only front and rear lights to finish. I need to finish the flip front and make a back before that though.

And Guam671 it is automatic because it was born like that. Ha. No really these things are as rare as rocking horse s--t this side of the pond so changing the box was a none starter. Plus it made making a pedal box easier.

720zx i was curious on how you did the removable front end and how big of a pain would it be, im about to drop my cammed 5.3 chevy motor in my 84 datsun 720 single cab and wanna be able to remove my front end pretty regularly to access the engine easier.

Hey nizzo, make sure you take plenty of pics and post them all when you drop that engine. I haven't seen anyone use an LS style block in a 720, so I will be curious to see the fitment. [/threadjack]

Here are some pictures of the flip front. It was a "big pain" to do but as there was nothing left to bolt the bonnet and wings to it needed to be done.

Everything is mounted on a box section subframe which is hinged from the front of the chassis. The bonnet is bolted to the frame and the wings are welded to it. The wings were cut in line with the firewall and plates welded in the brace them.  The hinges were made so the pins can be pulled out for easy removal. A multi pin plug by the left hinge is for the lights etc. but I haven't made a loom from the plug to the lights yet. Gas struts are to be fitted to assist opening and to stop it from opening too far.
