I agree, Troy is a good guy and he's still very much in the days... racing that is.

In my book Dave and his son Bryan are the real deal. Such nice, down to earth, oober knowledgable guys with decades of experience. Yet they still act like their hanging out in the neighborhood garage spinning wrenches with their buddies. They really helped me out of a tough spot when I pulled my car out of another garage who screwed me over. They were trying cover their shitty work telling me the motor was shot. 80% leak down in the #1 cylinder, bla bla bla. I had done a compression test and got 170 psi on all four so I knew they were shining me. I took it to Rebello's and in 20 minutes the car was running fine and still is today. I owe them big time.

I just swapped to LS2 coil packs and need to adjust spark dwell.  I'm also making the switch to e85, so I'll be taking the car back to Bryan for sure.

One request, update your sites gallery picts. I want to see stuff newer than 2011 bro. Show off the goods

I can't imagine 100 in a 510. Amazing. Was it on stock suspension?

True story. ^^^

I'll keep you posted on the e85 r0p0doe.

So much conflicting information out there regarding e85, but I started to notice most of the people with negative feedback were either hacks who didn't know what they were doing with it, or people who had a vested interest in status quo. There's also a lot of confusion between the N/A Joe public flex fuel user's experience vs. the forced induction tuner's experience. Almost everyone who's used it as performance fuel alternative to race fuel, and done it right, gushes over it. The real difficulty is adjusting to inconsistent fuel blend throughout the season. In Cali that's not as big a problem, but in tougher climates in winter the blend is closer to e60, and in the summer as high as 90%. If you don't adjust for that, Pop Goes The Weasel. I have a stand alone ECU already monitoring an O2 sensor, intake temp, and altimeter to adjust the air fuel mix. When I swap to e85 I I'll add a flex fuel sensor to the system to adjust the timing and fuel map on the fly for running any fuel blend. Otherwise I'd have to do a relative gravity test every time I fueled up.

140 mph (calculated using RPM, gearing, and tire size)...the car felt very stable.  The wind noise was almost as loud as the side drafts sucking down air.  It was still slowly pulling but I ran out of room.

Please do man, I'm really thinking about doing an e85 sr when I get there. And I'm not trying to hack it I want to do it right I don't want just an avarage SR swapped 510. I have a buddy who's running e85 on his evo9 and loves it he's pushing 450whp right now but has plans to get more horses out of it. I need to do a lot of studying up but that's where I want to go and have it to where I can switch between e85 and regular pump gas just how my buddy has on his evo...

That's not a 510. That's an A10

I literally laughed out loud at that one. I can relate.

The only drawback in switching between two maps is you have to empty the tank every time. If you add an O2 and flex fuel sensor to your ECU's monitoring system you can program it to adjust the map on a continuum according to the actual fuel blend % of ethanol.

135, and now 140mph hmmm! Those are some serious in a 510 numbers that to me need verification with gps and a picture are needed. I mean a 510 isn't exactly aerodynamic and more like pushing a Billboard through the air. I'm not saying you didn't, I'm just having a hard time swallowing the cool aid. I've done 118 in my 510 with a S14 SR20DE with 180hp and it had more but I don't think it had 130-140mph more. I have a lot of suspension mods and it was pretty damn smooth at speed even with halfshafts but then it isn't slammed to the ground.

Just Saying..

I know what a 510 will do. Limited experience in other Datsuns.

Post up whatever you want. If you have a Kenworth truck speed story, I would love to hear that too.

I agree. Even with a 250 hp race motor and a 1800 lb car on the race track, it's hard to break the 130 MPH barrier. I know a lot of these guys may have more HP because of their SR20DETTTTTTTT, but still, I would have to see it to believe it.

Translation: I'm not saying you're a lier, but my esophagus thinks you are.

Just to clarify here, this is not the People's Temple, although Mike does remind me of Jim Jones from time to time. Now if you're saying your esophagus doubts the veracity of their claimed velocity I would take that up with a psychologist who specializes in psychosomatic disorders. Don't blame your throat man, just pointed a finger and say "Lier".

A 250 hp 4 cylinder race car set up for a track is not geared for pushing top speed. It's set up for quick acceleration out of the corners. If you're working through tall gears to get up to speed you will fall behind, and by the time you hit150 it does you no good. Cars with under 250 hp go upwards of 170 on the salt flats, but it takes them miles to get it up there.

Aerodynamics plays a part, but with a low front end and an air dam the 510 may still be a brick, but a slipperier one.
