Talia Posted September 7, 2014 Report Share Posted September 7, 2014 Hi Everyone, Is it possible to install AC in a 1979 510 wagon (by Nissan). I'm interested in buying one, but has never had AC. I live in South Alabama, so summer would be unbearable without one. Also, if this project can be done, would anyone have an estimation of cost? Sorry, I know nothing of working on autos of any kind. datzenmike Posted September 7, 2014 Report Share Posted September 7, 2014 Well the HL510 did come with an AC option. Would be nice if you could find one and just have it transplanted into your car. For one it would look and fit perfectly. It would need to be modified to use today's refrigerant and not the outlawed old freon. A custom AC is the next choice, but I have no idea on cost to instal. If you know nothing about mechanics go to a reputable dealer.... and don't tell them you know nothing. Get an estimate of all labor and parts in writing. Go to several places.
