datsuntech
Thanks, must have missed that one. I did look a bit before posting. :) Quote Link to comment
datsuntech
OK, I went through every post in the How-To section, no dice.......Care to post a link? Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
I guess "windshield washer" is too hard to type... And its the early sentra. 83 confirmed, 84-85 same family. A lot can be found by typing in "kangaroo bag pump ratsun" into google... Quote Link to comment
datsuntech
More like too old to type all that. And W/W is standard shorthand for windshield washer...... The question I asked is for the internal pump....the answer I got is for an external pump. Soo, anyone have any tips for the internal pump? I don't want to destroy the bag trying to get the pump out of it. Quote Link to comment

No spoons till you reach 300 posts. Had you googled "kangaroo bag pump ratsun" the first topic listed is the diamond you were looking for. 1 Quote Link to comment
datsuntech
Again, cause I guess no one can read. The info shared in that thread (by DatWifey) is for an external pump. I have an internal pump not much in that thread. BTW the info is in the Datsun parts wanted section not in the How-to section.....Just saying. This is for my nephews car he wants it to remain bone stock...... haven't really looked at it. No worries, just thought someone might be able to help. Usually not the case...... I have been doing this for longer than most on here have been out of diapers, That's what I get for not just doing it on my own..... Back to the Bluebirds list..... Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
The pump she speaks of fits inside the bag. Inside. Who's not reading? Quote Link to comment
datsuntech
Fine, fine. Read it twice, maybe three times still missed the part where she said "in the bag". Apparently I can't read. Still no mention of how she got it out of the bag.... I assume through the fill hole? Quote Link to comment
DanielC
You can remove the pump from the bag. Pour hot water, on the hoses connecting to the pump, and the hoses come off the pump fittings easier. Open up the clips on the bottom of the bag, and then remove the pump. Remove the three screws holding the pump body together, ans see if there is any gunk in the impeller. Try to turn the impeller with your fingers. If it turns, hook it up to a battery. Sometimes it will then run. If it does not run, turn the impeller again, with the pump hooked up to the battery. Thst has fixed a few washer pumps for me. Quote Link to comment
njoz1200ute
I also have a dud internal pump on my Kangaroo washer bag. I was able to remove it but it was completely corroded and unrepairable. To try to keep the stock look in my 1200 utility I wanted to replace it but I found out that Nissan sells them for $395 brand new. I thought that was a bit too much for me to fork out for a new washer bag and pump. I have been searching for a replacement pump for a very long time. I too have not found a replacement. Until I can afford a new one from Nissan I bought a generic copy from Ebay that looks similar but has a different pump configuration. I was hoping to replace the pump but it doesn't work the same as you can see from the photos. I was told by some guys here in Australia that there is a direct replacement pump for sale in the cheap auto parts store but I have not found it in stock anywhere. Quote Link to comment
Davec
i just took mine apart and cleaned it up, put back together and it worked great. Quote Link to comment

datsuntech
Soo, last night I actually looked at this thing..... I pulled the bag out and am trying to figure out how I'm going to get the pump out of the bag to fix it. Then I notice the brass rivet in the bottom of the bag...Dooo. I always thought the pump was IN the bag, but it has this weird little pocket in the bottom. I had seen the ones with the external pocket like in the pic njoz1200ute posted, but had never actually had a kangaroo bag in my hand before last night. 510s don't have kangaroo bags. Anyway, a quick cleanup of the armature and it works perfectly. Thanks for all the help guys. Brock Quote Link to comment
