MikeRL411
The epitome of death from above and they keep trying to get rid of it, shame... Several years ago the Air Force tried to retire all Warthogs. The Army promptly offered to take them aa and their pilots too! Immediate back down. Quote Link to comment

MikeRL411
First generation Mustang? Bought as an "A" variation since the cost variation for the "F" had expired. So "A10" or "A11" ? Most varieties just hard varied the dive brakes and flew them as fighters. Was very effected as a dive bomber due to the almost 90 begree vertical bomb angle, gave very little warning as to the actual ground target unlike the Stuka! Quote Link to comment
MarkB.
Actually that's a Rolls-Royce powered B/C. note the under-the-nose intake. Allison powered A and A-36 variants had intakes above the propeller. Still cool. Very, very few razorback P-51s in existence. 1 Quote Link to comment

This is actually a P-51C The one with dive brakes is the A-36 Apache. Based the on the P-51-A and used for ground attack role, it was short lived and discontinued once more capable birds came on line and dive bombing went out of vogue. 1 Quote Link to comment

Jesse C.
B17A obviously umber 5000! B-17G 5 Grand was the 5,000th B-17 built since Pearl Harbor. She went to war in Europe and came back to the U.S. after the war. She was offered to the City Of Seattle for a possible war memorial and preservation , but, city leaders could not get or justify the money to keep it and turned it down. She ended up being scrapped at Kingman, Arizona 1 Quote Link to comment
