Jeeebus DaBlist. Skills man! And I hear you. When doing a painting, so much time is spent looking or planing. Hard to bill for that by the hour!

Tacked lip to valance

Didn't like how the outer openings are so close to ends. Would make wrapping the ends around into the body look all wrong, So more slice and dice

Well I thought I was on a roll with finishing this front valance when I really screwed up.

First - I took it off the car to finish welding where the ends were pieced together, so much nicer

working up on the bench.

Second - I saw someone welding sheet metal and after each little weld they blew it with an air nozzle to keep the heat down so I started giving each weld tack an up close blast of air, but didn't realize I had just learned a new way to shrink metal so all the curves tighten up. Had to slice the ends up to get it to fit.

May end up running a bumper to hide where the panels join

Ended up buying two AC/heat/defrost units (sure glad Tanker is paying for all this). Bought an Old Air Hurricane first for it's cube shape to mount above the passenger foot well so I could still have room to raise the trans tunnel later if needed for different engine trans combinations but it stuck out to far and hung down to low do to the upper firewall shape.

End up going with a Vintage Air Compac

Been working on getting the engine compartment ready for color and realized I should mock things up first and make the hard lines for the brakes and clutch.

IMG_20161101_191325925_zpsafybxwoa.jpg

Then I noticed the raised steering linkage was inline with the clutch master mount

IMG_20161101_191403259_zpsfzrlziwz.jpg

But a little trimming and the clutch master fits fine

Jrock said to put some JB Weld on the end of clutch master and it should be fine cause he's seen it used on brake lines but decided to order a Tilton instead

The Tilton CM is still a little tight and may require recessing the mounting area.

Then I found this picture of a 370z CM and ordered one.

The 370z Cm is 11/16 bore vs 3/4 stock and the distance that it sticks through the back maybe problematic so will see which route I go

370z Fits perfect on this side.

Ordered a banjo bolt and fitting to deal with the pressure fitting pointing at the frame

But required moving the attachment point on pedal arm farther away to keep the push rod angles good

Update: Life in the way

Daughter's Escape had the power steering go out. can't find pump, hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Didn't know a 2008 Escape had electronic power steering.  So replace $135 sensor cause internet, no fix.

Pay dealer $165 to tell me they would replace same sensor I already replaced and charge $600.

Bought complete electronic power steering unit (sensor, control module, electric motor) online $425.

All better

Drove it to work for three weeks without power steering while I let her use my car.

Then decided to take a chance on a Harbor Freight Generator so went Black Friday shopping first time ever.

But wasn't smart enough to buy the wheel kit and because there are no other projects in this tread to work on decided to build this
