Nascarkeith
Hooked up a new radio today. Worked for a few seconds and went out. Put a light bulb on the positive and negative wires and I get light so I thought bad radio. Returned it and wired a new one and still got nothing. Fuses under dash are good. I can't figure this out. Nascarkeith
The radio will not power on whatsoever. No that I have quit working for tonight let me explain better. Installed new radio, amp, and subs. Everything worked but sound was low. Messed with fade got sound and the radio shut down. Would not come back on. I used a 12 volt light bulb to test wires. All good. Returned radio and got a new one. Connected the positive, negative, and ignition wire and it won't even light up. Light bulb still shows power. I realized the previous owner made a mess of speaker wires so I ran new. Is it possible that the bulb would light but the radio isn't getting enough power? Quote Link to comment
Dat Lurka
Voltmeter time. I was going to say there is a possible short in the speaker wiring but you covered that. Still could be one in a speaker itself. Make sure you have good ground. Quote Link to comment
