that-son Posted August 31, 2014 Report Share Posted August 31, 2014 title is self explanatory. post your less than ideal repairs here. the whole top of the shifter boot tore off plus two tears in the folds somewhere. i first soaked the boot in greased lightning, dried it up, scuffed with sand paper then cleaned with brakekleen. i then put a generous spread of rtv and let cure for 2 days. if you look closely you will see some squeeze out. in hindsight, i think i should have done several thin layers. but seems to be holding up and i already had the rtv. seat belts don't lock up so... 1 Quote Link to comment
