a.d._510_n_ok
I went to change out an aftermarket oil pressure gauge and discovered a difference between the threads on the backs of the two gauges. I always thought these things were standardized but......Apparently, the shop basic unit uses 1/8" NPT thread pitch - just kinda wondering what I need to ask the parts guy for???? Z-train
Bottom right is 1/8th.Bottom left is "4AN"-it is a better gauge. 1 Quote Link to comment
DanielC
The engine block on Datsun engine is not threaded 1/8 NPT. It uses a British standard. You will probably need an adapter to fit the block. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
This allow you to connect the gauge but you loose the red warning light on the dash, not a good idea. The warning light is much more noticeable than constantly checking the gauge. I just got the sender from a 720 4X4 or any 280zx, S110 200sx, S12 that has a gauge already. It simply screws into the block and replaces the sender that there. The oil pressure gauge I got from the same truck... The sender has two wires. One for the red low pressure warning light in the dash and the other for the gauge. Has illumination bulbs as well. Didn't want to remove the working clock so I put it here. 1 Quote Link to comment
DrRocks0
Looks like the fitting screws off the gauge, have you seen if they can be swapped? 1 Quote Link to comment
a.d._510_n_ok
yeah, wound up buying a kit @ autozone. $10 for a whole 'nother plumbing kit when all I needed was two fittings out of it. oh well, I'm sure I'll use the rest some day - or get into meth and harvest it for the copper value. 1 Quote Link to comment
smoke
There is big money in becoming a meth user, it almost always leads to a success story. Oh, wait...I might be thinking of something else. Quote Link to comment
