Eagle_Adam
Finally got the damn manifold studs drilled out, deff need some new drill bits. Any suggestions? And I got a box of goodies! Off to the garage 3 Quote Link to comment
Draker
Drill bit sharpener? If they are cheap bits.. might not be worth it. I know all I've got is cheap shit for bits. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
I love my SnapOn Thunderbits. Not worth it for at home. I had the Craftsman titanium coated set which I abused for years. They were pretty good. 3 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
I was just throwing it out there. I have a Vietnamese finger nail artist that does my detail painting. He does a great job... LOL 2 Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
I'd love snap on but I'm sure it's outta my price range right now 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
I'd love snap on but I'm sure it's outta my price range right nowI actually have had good luck with the nicest HF set. Don't force the bits and they'll cut good for you. Let the bit do the work. You could go buy a cobalt set from Home Depot or Sears. Cobalt drill bits work better on heavy metal. Biggest mistake people make with cobalt is speed. Slower speeds work best for cobalt. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
IRWIN makes a good drill bit set. Decently priced for a DIY'r. Lowe's, Home Depot, Amazon. 2 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Steel: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000EBAE6K/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1454994001&sr=8-4&pi=SL140_CR0,0,140,140_QL70&keywords=irwin+drill+bits Cobalt: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000BO9JMK/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1454994090&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=irwin+drill+bits I'd go for the steel first. More versitle all around. 3 Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
Ended up wrapping up a decent amount of things on the todo list! Finally got nuts and bolts in lue studs on the exhaust mani Got the dizzy cleaned up and vaccumm advance painted Intermittent wipers got added Had to rewire the head unit, one of the PO decided electrical tape or a butt conector was all you needed.... I ended up with a removable option and tape in all the right spots Couple of zip ties and bam! Should have a charged battery tomorrow and I can test everything b4 pushing the head unit all the way in 3 Quote Link to comment
S30Jay
Damn that dash looks sexy! Nice work. My manifold and yours could be twins. 2 Quote Link to comment

Eagle_Adam
This was a previous truck done up in LED's This one should be even a bit brighter cus of my bulb choice this time around 1 Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
While I wait for my battery to show up I figured I'd knock out somethingelse on the list..... When I first got the truck passenger door never open from the inside and about a week ago the same door decided it wasn't going to stay latched closed anymore. So you go to close the door out of habit, and it slams and bounces back ... Picked up a new lock mech from teddy Worked like a charm, stays shut and opens on both sides of the door :D Nismodr stopped by to give me a hand the other night and ended up charging my dead battery at his work while changed the carrier bearing!!! Before After Muy Bueno!! And since I now had a battery it seemed like a good time to test all the upgrades/mods I did! Everything powered up with no fires! Woot Whoever did the "aftermarket wiring" in this truck previously sucks...... Cus everything did power up, or so I thought :/ 4 Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
No pics for this part but I just spent more hours than id like to admit undoing someone's attempts at bypassing the stock harness for reasons only known to them..... Had to find out why the wipers diddnt have the intermittant setting, ended up being another harness issue But after all BS I got back to what I intended to do today Manifolds are both on! Well, almost all the way on..... Ended up finding out one of the bolt holes for the manifolds was stripped out(explaines part of the old exhaust leak I guess, I just blamed it on the POS header that was on there and globed in orange RTV) And since it's 11pm and parts stores are closed I can't get a hell coil till the morning so here I stop for the night :/ 4 Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
Oh!!!!! But wait!!!!!!!! There's more!! The water pump has always had a wet spot, not a leak but noticeable. So of course I went investigating!! And things escalated quickly, -.- Long story short, I found a broken bolt and a missing bolt on the water pump :/ Lucky me tho, The broken bolt came out 1st try with minimal effort :D 5 Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
Still wasn't tired so I kept going Cleaned up the block and timing cover quite a bit, new fuel pump gaskets, both of the main coolant passages got new gaskets, 3 Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
Still not tired...... Onward!!!!! Water pump and new gasket are in, inspection plate got a new gasket too, timing cover and dizzy got fresh o-rings, belts back on, blah blah blah Pretty much stopped on what's left till I hit a parts store Can't remember who gave this to me but I've failed to use it tomorrow's the day! So I'm gunna try to get one of my daily naps in and catch a ride to the parts store 4 Quote Link to comment
