Howzit fellas. I have a 93 Nissan hardbody with a automatic transmission. My trans just went out and I have a datsun 720 truck with a standard transmission sitting on the side. I was told that the trans from the 720 will bolt up to my ka block. What I want to know is what I need to do the whole swap to get my truck up and running and back on the road. Your guys help will be much appreciated.

Yes the Z series transmission will bolt to the KA series engines. Pretty sure the auto and the standard are different lengths so you would have to measure them.

Automatic to standard...

A KA flywheel (with correct bolts) with matching clutch and pressure plate. (the 720 flywheel and bolts may work)

The five speed from the 720 would have to have a shifter and dust boot, clutch arm and dust boot, and a release bearing collar compatible with the choice of pressure plate used.

You will need a clutch and brake pedal set from another Hardbody, including the push rod to the master cylinder

A master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder connected by a hard line and flex line.

A new pilot bushing for in the end of the crankshaft.

You will have to connect your reverse light wires to the reverse lamp switch on the 5 speed. The automatic interlock wires that prevent starting in any position other than Park and Neutral will need to be joined together electrically.

The 5 speed rear mount is anybodies guess as to weather it will work on the Hardbody

Trans mount and cross members are different, the clutch slave cylinder are the same but the master cylinder is different, am not sure about the pedals and for the switch there is a green-red cable that you can run the switch of it under the dash I did this last year and switch back auto I have everything to do the swap I will try to post same pictures.

Most likely the 720 parts won't fit the Hardbody this is why I said to get them from another Hardbody

What Green/Red cable???? All you need do is connect up the reverse lights to the manual transmission switch. Nothing could be easier. Why a switch under the dash?????

The switch that goes on your pedal dude so you can start your vehicle that's how I did it there is always other ways of doing things as for the 720 accessories fitting a d21 no clue I had a truck for spares so I used everything of it. Now I just finished rebuilding the auto trans I will post pictures of the what's needed.
