Please note the tone of sarcasm in this, but see if it fits: because Al Gore has a lovely un "moddest" house it proves global warming is a hoax, it's all a scam made up by thousands of colluding scientists all around the world, although annually the US introduces 15.1 trillion pounds of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere that has no ill effect on the environment, it is our right as Americans to pollute as we please, Exon Model, BP, Chevron, and Shell are environmentally conscientious companies and are committed to protecting our planet, Coal companies are patriotic entities that care deeply about their employees and the environment, strip miner's jobs are more important than any environmental harm they may cause, any attempt to regulate and or reduce corporate and private polluting is not protecting the public good because if it effects convenience profit or jobs, this government scam is orchestrated by liberal establishment elites who want to rape big business so they can make more money for themselves. 

 

Here's a crack at the left ass fucking narrative; global warming is real and releasing trillions of pounds of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every year is a serious threat to the climate, if we don't do anything about it we'll kill our chid, as Americans we should be taking the lead in being "the most responsible stewards of this planet", massive oil companies are lobbying and contributing huge sums of campaign money to our politicians who in turn lie to us about the danger of burning fossil fuels. The coal industry is the most dangerous destructive and polluting form of energy production and should be banned, even at the risk of inconvenience reduced profit and and jobs, regulating and reducing corporate and private polluting is protecting the public good, our government isn't doing this because of an orchestrated scam by conservative corporate elites who want to rape the environment so they can make more money for themselves.

 

Here's my subjective reality: Politicians and government are not motivated by finding solutions for the greater good, they are an extension of private interests of individuals and corporations. In the business of government money buys representation, therefore corporations have a clear advantage not only in government, but in media messaging aka selling their interests.

 

Our news media is not motivated to be objective or telling the truth, they are a profit driven business that relies on viewership ratings. Sensationalism and telling the audience what they want to hear keeps people watching. Not only are they making profit through corporate advertising, they sell a politically driven distortion of truth to to keep you watching.

 

With all of this ass fucking, how can we get beyond these polarized reality distorting narratives and actually have a discussion about the very real conflictual relationship between the global economy and the global environment? What is the best way to protect our GDP at home while protecting our own personal health, our own back yard, and the global responsibilities of our country?
