My ownership came as a direct result of a certain ban in the late nineties(then bush let it lapse).

he did let it lapse but he also said he would have renewed it if the dems had had sufficient intestinal fortitude to resubmit it. They didn't being that 2004 was an election year and gun control had been an unpopular agenda for at least two previous election cycles. I did not believe that the ten year sunset would happen but I was sure glad it did.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is how you get 8 years of President Trump instead of just 4."

California may have just boosted Trump's chances of winning in 2020

•The California state legislature is giving almost $50 million to groups defending illegal immigrants.

•This may play well locally, but most of America is still very worried about illegal immigration.

•This move is likely to help President Trump's mostly popular anti-illegal immigration push.

So strange. I'm stoked that my kids are bilingual, culturally diverse, and will be able to empathize from more than one vantage point. Homogenous cultures scare me.

You do understand that there's a big difference between legal and illegal immigration, right?

No one is blocking legal immigration.

I understand they are very different. And the only way to solve it is to not reject immigrants. That is, by fact, the only thing making them illegal. Many of our ancestors arrived on a boat to Ellis Island. They were a citizen almost immediately. They started working, paying taxes, and generally contributing. If they were not accepted as citizens they'd have had to find work illegally, thus not paying taxes. Possibly illegal industry that degrades society because that is the work that pays non citizens easily.

But that will never happen because real "Americans" won't know how to order breakfast in any other language. Quotes because Mexicans are more American than Eurocentric US populous.

Where does it say block LEGAL immigration in any of the tenants of what Diego said?

California is funding ILLEGAL immigration. I haven't heard or read from anyone in here saying block all immigration. I have read how everyone wants the rule of law to prevail though. So no matter if we go bilingual that is a tangent that has nothing to do with ILLEGAL immigration. That's just good education.

Much like half or if not more of this nation want this illegal usurp crap to stop.

So you want open borders, how's that sustainable?

stay out of Mexico then :)

Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets “the equilibrium of the national demographics,” when foreigners are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when “they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy.” (Article 37)

Huh, my parents immigrated legally to the U.S. and my siblings and I know the history of Mexico, Speak Spanish Fluently and appreciate and celebrate some of its culture. But we are also proud Americans who have embraced the American Culture and Way of Life. We assimilated pretty good and we are here legally.

The key word you seem to be omitting is "Illegal" and yes, it does make a difference. Most illegals do not care to assimilate to their new cultural surroundings not even learn the new language. Just consume and move on. And the argument that they contribute to the economy is accurate to a point, since a good chunk of their money goes toward enriching the country they left.

I used to think what California does has little effect on the rest of the country, but if what you suggest is true, we must be pretty fucking important.

As fucked up as it is, economically speaking, my state's GDP has benefited from "illegal immigrant" labor. Bare in mind though, California didn't create this fucking mess, and we do not have the authority to fix it, but we have to deal with it. LMFAO that anyone would be shocked that California would take a liberal path on this. Learn to deal with it, I have.

California's operating budget is $183 billion in a state of 40 million people. So WTF is the big ass deal about $46 mil tipping the 2020 election in Trump's favor. Are you serious? Given his track record, I'd say this is a case of HYPER propagandized sensationalism.

Perfect example of Chicken Little Shit "news". They didn't mention the name of the legal groups receiving this funding in the article, because it doesn't fit the immigration fear narrative being spun. These evil "anti Trump resistance" groups are actually members of the One California initiative that has received state funding for over 3 years. These are community faith based organizations that help immigrants enroll in EXISTING administrative relief programs as well as encourage citizenship for Lawful Permanent Residents. In fact, the only money earmarked for "legal assistance" for One California programs is $3 million for children arriving alone to the Mexican US border from Central America.

Liberal or not, California is the most financially successful state in the United States. It pays more federal tax than any other state by almost double, but is 40th in what it receives from the fed. This making it possible for other less successful states (Red and Blue) to meet their needs. Why?, Because we are part of the UMITED STATES OF A FUCKING MERICA.  It pisses me off when narrow minded people call my state stupid simply because it's predominantly liberal.

Finsbury Park attack: Son of hire boss held over Facebook post

A man has been arrested on suspicion of posting an offensive Facebook post about the London Finsbury Park attack.

Police said a 37-year-old, believed to be the son of an owner of the Rhondda Cynon Taff company whose van was used in Monday's attack, is in custody.

Richard Evans allegedly posted: "It's a shame they don't hire out steam rollers or tanks could have done a tidy job then."

His father, Lee Evans, said he condemned the remarks.

South Wales Police said a 37-year-old man was being held on suspicion of displaying threatening, abusive, insulting written material with intent that is likely to stir up racial hatred.

Comments made by an account under the name of Richard Gear Evans Facebook, which were then shared by others on Twitter, read: "Glad I'm not running the van hire the police wouldn't like what my answer would be.

"It's my dad's company I don't get involved it's a shame they don't hire out steam rollers or tanks could have done a tidy job then."

"As California goes so goes the nation" is something I've heard repeatedly in the twenty-five years I've been a political junky. Hell, you dudes passed Prop 187 way back in 1994. Cali was at the forefront of fighting illegal immigration before the Ninth Circus schlonged you.
