I am not a gun owner because I fear for my life, I own guns because I like guns. Yup, that simple.

I've owned guns for twenty years. Never feared for my life and never hunted. I got into guns in 1997 when I found a 1913 .303 Brit in a pawn shop. A life-long love of history brought me into guns. It's one thing to read about WW1 in books but firing a Gew88 manufactured in Spandau, Germany in 1891 adds an entirely new factor into the equation. It's like hearing a WW1 veteran speak.

I'm going to agree up to your very last comment, the right to bare arms wasn't included in our constitution to protect us from crime, and you out of all people should know that, it was to protect us from possible tyranny that may rise up within our government, so your point is moot if your in favor of banning guns.

Nice attempt to distort what I'm saying to divert the conversation back to another chicken little news narrative. Are you uncomfortable talking about the actual point I was making?

No, I'm failing to understand where you stand on gun rights, simply that.

Judge finds Michelle Carter guilty of manslaughter in texting suicide case

In a case that hinged largely on a teenage couple's intimate text messages, Michelle Carter was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter Friday in the 2014 death of her boyfriend, who poisoned himself by inhaling carbon monoxide in his pickup truck, a Massachusetts judge ruled.

Carter's own words -- preserved in hundreds of text messages presented as evidence over six days of testimony -- helped seal her conviction in the death of 18-year-old Conrad Roy III, Bristol County Juvenile Court Judge Lawrence Moniz said during a 15-minute explanation of his rationale.

"She admits in ... texts that she did nothing: She did not call the police or Mr. Roy's family" after hearing his last breaths during a phone call, Moniz said. "And, finally, she did not issue a simple additional instruction: Get out of the truck."

Wonder how long before the ruling is overturned.

London mayor on attack against Muslims: 'Terrorism is terrorism'

Civil breakdown before a country decends into small skirmishes among factions.

This was a revenge incident. A Patriot (loose term) from what I can opine decided to take his idea of af action against his idea of the enemy.

Although I understand the intention behind this attack, in this situation I think it's a dangerous misperception to associate this radicalized terrorist act as being patriotic in any way shape or form. The innocent people killed and injured on London Bridge shared the same horrific fate of terrorism as the innocent Muslims who were attacked this weekend. The only guilt they had was a shared faith with a handful of radicalized psychopaths. If the West doesn't condemn this cowardly act as terrorism we are normalizing psychopathic behavior in our "elevated" culture. Our morality is a dynamic social construct and terrorism can take us right back to the dark ages if we let it.

Anne Coulter said on twitter the dude is a dreamer and I'll taker her word for it unless and until she's disproven.

In the wake of a 17 yr old girl being murdered on her way to prayer as a possible hate crime, the focus is diverted to fear and condemnation of dark people who grew up in the US without papers. Chicken Little soap opera maybe?

I think the moral barrier or morality construct is starting to break down on a larger amount of "some people". The MSM better be careful as to how they cover these incidents. Giving a pass or even showing a slight bit of favoritism may end up pushing this the wrong way.

Patriot is a loose term. This man may have seen himself as that or he might even be connected to a victim of the closest act by the muslim radical movement recently. These things need to stop or the escalation will not until civility decays into factions of war parties. Blanket association is so dangerous.....

I will say this man's action is no less than terrorism and should not be treated any other way. I wouldn't call it "Christian", or Right Wing terrorism unless this man says it's in the name of Christ or the Right. I have a feeling he isnt a christian psychopath, but just psychotic shit.

Wouldn't it be interesting to compare those with the history of gun

control in the US?

Wow. I didn't expect results to be so evident. But the correlation is certainly clear even if it is not cause and effect. I doubt you expected that

I bet you could find the dates at which hard federal gun legislation kicked in on the google. Probably even if you had the FBI statistics in your hand you would see that most of the murders were carried out with blunt force or strangulation.

I would like to see more comprehensive data. Methods and regions.

The London mayor actually said the word "terrorism" ? I'm not condoning the most recent attack but calling it patriotic doesn't really bother me.What do extremist Muslims call it when they attack innocent people ? it may not be patriotic but is very similar to being patriotic. It's for their cause, whatever the hell the cause is.Of course the West will condemn this violence but when will we get peaceful Muslims to stand up a little taller against the radicals that make them all look bad ? One of the things that bothers me the most about this incident was something i read on the news this morning. The news called that white guy a terrorist and in the same paragraph called the attack last week an attack by extremists.WTF ? it's no different.
