I don't support removing these statues, but we owe it to history to be accurate about what they stood for and why they were fighting their own countrymen. Let's get it straight VTR, they are not just being pulled down on acct of slavery, but for fighting to separate themselves from the Union to maintain their enslaved workforce.

They would say it was a state's rights issue versus an overreaching federal government.

In the 100 years between our forefather's owning slave and the civil war, the North came to the realization it was wrong and outlawed it.

ummmkay.......the Emancipation Proclamtion didn't even outlaw slavery. It just freed the slaves in the states that were in rebellion so any union state where slavery was legal (Maryland, Delaware, Kentucky, Missouri and fifty counties of western Virginia that were loyal to the union and became the separate state of West Virginia) kept their slaves so it freed no one. Not sure how slavery was "outlawed" when it was still being practiced in some union states.

^ maybe civil war made us all slaves??

Lee fought for the states he was from , even though union wanted him. Few southerners owned slaves , nobody wanted it to stop immediately.. bottom line may have been for laws against slavery, but more to the big picture. I thought more for freedom. Maybe even from the federal bank? Lincolns green backs??

Oh, yeh civil war was obviously economics. Freed slaves, means nobody picks cotton or tend the Southern plantations. But with all of these current violence, it will not solve issues. Each side is just getting more resolved with their perceived values, specially what happened at Charlottsville.

Cicil rights is not a "States issue" it's a Federal United States Constitutional issue.

I GENERALIZED where the "North" and "South" divisions stood during the civil, but all the statements you made reenforced that the division was along the very line I stated "fighting to separate themselves from the Union to maintain their enslaved workforce." Now are you going to say the Northern Army was fighting to protect or deny Maryland, Delaware, Kentucky, Missouri and fifty counties of western Virginia's right to slavery, or from becoming the "separate state" of West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Kentucky, and Missouri? This argument is moronic at best.

So, this bill is only applicable to state employees while on shift a state adult care facility. Essentially if you care for the elderly at a long term care facility (elderly HOME), you should respect those who live there. That is a huge fucking cry from your brief headline. You had me thinking what the fuck, but I decided to actually read the bill that classifies a MISTEMEANOR to state employees for failing to treat seniors like they should be treated in their home. I don't know why they wouldn't just fire their ass, but I've got no problem regulating state employees with state law. This is not really a freedom of speach issue as has been settled in Supreme Court ad nauseum

Awan Bro indicted on 4 charges.. and the wife which already fled the country is charged as well. Will they flip and turn on DWS? ....

The complaint and affidavit against Awan accused him and his wife of attempting to commit bank fraud by misrepresenting themselves on a loan for a rental property they had and then wiring the proceeds to two unnamed persons in Pakistan. Fishy as fuck.
