Because businesses that sell wedding cakes have no right or say in who gets to buy them or their end use. The owners are no better than racists.

Yeah, for me aside from kiddie fiddlers or Jihadi ISIS cunts I'd sell to anyone as their $$ are just as good as anyone else.

I don’t know about canadia, but in the home of bald eagles and big blocks we have the right to refuse service to anyone.

But not for any reason it seems.

But in the case of gunshop owners, I'd hope they can refuse to sell to who they don't want to. Particularly if they feel concern for their intent to own.

/\..so what would make a difference?

What is "or similar?"

You think 3 years in age will make any difference? An 18 year old who wants to kill everyone because he was bullied and has a chip on his shoulder, or a 21 year old who was bullied, lives in his mom's basement still and has a chip on his shoulder?

Federal judge allows Trump to withhold grants to California as part of sanctuary city crackdown

Mar 6, 2018

A federal judge in Northern California has declined a request from California Attorney General Xavier Becerra to block the Trump administration’s decision to withhold a law enforcement grant to the state as part of its crackdown on states and jurisdictions that protect illegal immigrants.

Becerra asked for a preliminary injunction against the Trump administration's decision, but Judge William Orrick of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled against taking that step.

“The injury threatened is not irreparable,” Orrick wrote. “The amount of money at stake is small compared to the state’s budget. Payment is delayed, for the moment. The DOJ appears to be using its regular administrative process to decide whether it will follow its initial inclinations.”

^ good shit. I’m sick and fucking tired of California being North Mexico. I’m ok with immigration, immigrants respect America and want to be part of it. Illegal aliens on the other hand, don’t respect America, don’t want to be part of it, refuse to integrate, and just want to send wealth out of the country.

Proponents of illegal immigration say that all the time, yet when it comes to gun control they say this isn't the wild west anymore. If the landscape for gun control has changed, why hasn't it changed for immigration also? We're not the expanding frontier anymore...

Actually Mainer, a lot happens during these three years, and there are distinct differences in these age groups 18 vs 21. I'm not arguing that changing the age to buy a gun will solve anything, just clarifying some of the developmental, psychological, and sociological differences.

The psychological transition between childhood and adulthood begins with puberty, doesn't end until the mid twenties, and is effected by biological, social, and individual temperamental factors. Physiological changes at this age range are intense with respect to hormonal balance and neurological development in brain structure (attachment of the pre frontal cortex}.

Sociological environmental changes at this age are equally intense with respect to independence, moving from a 12 year highly structured grade school group experience to a far more self directed actualization of thought and action. This is a crucial period where we learn the consequence of our actions and how to function as autonomous beings. Individual stable traits such as personality influence how we navigate all of this, but these powerful forces I've mentioned have a profound effect on psychological maturation. At this time newly minted "adults" are still mastering projective abilities of anticipation, judgment, planning, and decision making, They're learning new skills of self control through trial and error, and all of this is in full swing at this particular age range.

I totally understand why people are saying this is a bad time to throw a "high powered assault rifle" into the mix. Personally I see it as a misguided assumption that guns are the problem. If our society were actually living up to the title Home of The Brave, there would be FAR less guns in this country. In stead we have a home of fearful reactionaries who believe the sky is falling, and either think it's guns that make us safe or that it's guns that are making us unsafe. Meanwhile, no one is brave enough to ask them self why they believe they are in such danger.

Per capita, the murder rate in the US is way down where it was in 1910, over all crime rates are lower than they were 58 years ago, and yet our prison rates and gun sales have skyrocketed. So why do we feel so god damn unsafe these days? The only thing I can relate it to is an explosion in local TV and later cable news media, and with it a marked decline in journalistic ethics and standards. Violence and crime gets ratings and in turn sells advertising. Seeing it poor out of the boob tube makes people think shit is spinning out of control, and so the vicious circle continues to spin out of control, and where this goes, nobody knows.

Also you noticed how our car insurance drops when you get older, provided that you don't get too many tickets. I definitely saw changes in my sons decision making process from high school to college. The other thing I noticed is the rise in young peo people on meds. Which is bothersome because of the side affects. I understand there are some that need it but is there a correlation with meds, depression and violent tendencies and these are the "prescribed" ones.

I don't know of any data or studies regarding anti depressant "meds" as a whole and violent tendencies, but there are issues with some specific classes of SSRI drugs razing the risk of suicide in adolescents.

I posted a list back on pg. 1325 post 26486 of the meds children were on when they killed people or committed suicide.

It is horribly long.
