No one can ever say 100% for certain what they'd do until the moment came but as a Firefighter you've got more training with instinct that may kick in that Cheeto would. He could not manage to go to Nam like that La Pierre cockhead. So much for their valour. Link to comment
datzenmike
1/ You may not own or purchace a gun until 21. This means that a guardian must be appointed that will hold it in trust, any heirloom firearms and be solely responsible for it, and for you when you do use it. At all other times it will remain safely locked away. Oversight for those under 21. 2/ To use a gun you need to take a thorough course on gun use and safety and pass oral/written/demonstration exam and carry this permit at all times a gun is in your possession. Like a license and renewed every two years. 3/ To purchase a gun you need a firearms acquisition certificate that assures a full and thorough background check is made. Renewed every 5 years. Like a passport. Buyer and seller must declare the sale. 4/ To use or own a firearm anyone any age must not be a felon, convicted of firearm misuse, or released from military service with questionable mental health. You must pass a mental health exam every two years. Have a sworn in sponsor (or guardian in 1/ above) that can be asked probing questions about your mental state at any time. Severe penalties for false statements. All firearms locked away safely when not in use. Theft reported immediately. Severe penalty for improper storage resulting in theft. 5/ If involved in a domestic dispute, on line threat, firearms seized and held by sponsor in safe storage denied to owner until reliably safe to be returned. Any reported infraction will be investigated thoroughly and firearms ordered returned. 6/ Any crime involving a firearm or felon in possession of firearm... severely dealt with. 7/ ALL firearms registered as they are bought or acquired. Certified sample fired bullet provided on all rifled barrel firearms. 8/ Other.... something that falls through the cracks. Honest, deserving gun owners and future owners should have no problem with any of this. The right to bear arms must be earned and the right protected and not allowed to be threatened by criminals. Morally bankrupt NRA excluded. Link to comment

Ooph!
I found the news developments today as rather amusing, The Sheriff had spoken really quickly about his own man the resident cop as a failure and seemed to instantly become a folk hero for calling the dude out. Today he's on the Governor's shit list for having so many deputies all on the same role of guarding the sidewalk. 1 Link to comment

Here we go again. Number two wouldn’t have helped here or anywhere an ar was used. It wouldn’t affect the ar platform at all being it uses an intermediate cartridge and not the rhetorical “high powered rifle” that the ill informed try to tag it with. Actually number two is a perfect number for it because it’s absolutely shite. I believe you’d find I was the one to suggest non descript mental health flag, paradime expanded it to something that could be truly functional though. Three would be the most effective but the sheep would be to scared to let it happen even though they would benefit. 1 Link to comment

tr8er
So if a person has mental illness, does he or she still have rights to own a gun? Yes. But not if their illness makes them a risk to them self or others. Or if it leads to other factors, such as if they medicate with drugs known to have said effects. 1 Link to comment

Or if it leads to other factors, such as if they medicate with drugs known to have said effects. Absolutely. I’ve had ptsd (no fml and all good now) and got clearance from psych, doctor and Police to keep mine so as tr8r said, not if a person is a risk to others. Not all metal illnesses will lead to a person losing their shit and committing atrocities with a firearm. 1 Link to comment

Not what this is about.Sorry if I hurt your feelings by pointing out errors and mis/disinformation. I didn’t get the memo about you being appointed the guardian of cuz merica. I’ve posted some of the most important numbers. 2 as in the second amendment. 10 as in the first ten amendments, the bill of rights...unalienable rights at that. 1 as in the first amendment granting free speech. Those are really the only numbers truly applicable to this ricockulous “conversation”. If my conservatism offends anyone, I really don’t give a ratsuns ass. And to further roil this discussion, the "First ten amendments" were actually eleven amendmendts! The one that failed, and still make be enacted since it had no expiration date, was to limit the salary increases of representatives that voted for an increase in federal salaries. Bet that was never mentioned by the "several Social Studies" teachers you had in middle school! 2 Link to comment
