Mark, are you fucking serious?

We let anybody, and I mean ANYBODY into Aus and then spend serious amounts of time trying to deport the troublemakers. Methinks you are trolling.

I was actually offered a job in Australia, and the government told me that they only offered work visas to people with certain job skills that were on their priority list.  The woman that owned the business is married to an American, and he told me he had multiple roadblocks, and it took him quite a while to get approval.  This occured sometime in the mid-80's and possibly things have changed since then, but it certainly was not my experience at the time.

As far as working visa's go now if you're in the right field you'd be a lot easier to get in,they have what's called "457"  visa's which are often claimed to be abused with employers getting people from countries that have people who will accept a lot less $$ for the work an Australian would have to be paid more for.

It was actually a very good job offer that the company could not find qualified local candidates for.  They made me a very decent offer trying to tempt me to move.  That's why I was seriously considering it.

Anyway, this is the 'murican thread, so lets get back to the bitching and whining about all things 'murican..

Doesn't Australia give refugees water then push them back out to sea?

At least you don't debate whether or not they should be deported

Only those that arrive by boat get the push back tteatment. Trumps got it all over us with any other type of illegal immigrant.

Also we dont try and ban people (unlike Trump) due to religios afilliation or country of origin.

Had a similar experience with the land of the Kiwi's about 10 years ago.  Wife had a great job opportunity but it had too short of timeline to get all the approvals necessary to be eligible.  Yet with me, as a welder/fabricator, they were willing to let me in rather quickly simply due to it being a desired field.

Shouldn't need whistleblowers but like cell phone cameras, it's helps keep others honest. If you're doing something wrong it's up to you to see you aren't caught.

Who would gain from this? Who would get the most out of this.... accident? Who would further their aims by having the public in an uproar that they are not safe.

                             It was the Russians........or Aliens.
