paradime
Your right but.. Sorry, is there a dem (liberal) we should support? I'm no pundit brother, I leave that up to your judgement. Like all of us frustrated quasi radical humanist libertarians with absolute faith in the free market system and a deep distrust of corporate political power, our candidate is busy running his unicorn ranch in never land. < (if we had a facetious font, I would have used it here). I'm registered independent and have voted both parties my whole life. I lean towards candidates with an open mind and a record of integrity, but even when that candidate wins, 80% of the time I regret helping vote them into office. Libertarians have yet to produce a candidate worth a shit, but I remain hopeful. God I wish we had candidates that didn't take sides and stood for all Americans. Unfortunately when a politician hangs an R or a D by there name they are beholding to their parties powerful corporate interests. Both parties twist and spin the shit out of it to convince you it's "in your best interest", and lucky for them, no one takes the time to look under the hood of their own party. Given my political disposition take it for what it's worth, but IMO the Dem establishment no longer represents liberal ideals just like the Rep establishment no longer represents conservative ideals. After the Alabama shit show, anyone who still thinks their party gives a flying fuck about their best interests, values or ideals, the way I see it, they're what's wrong with this country. paradime
Ken Starr's investigation into Whitewater went on for 5 years and found nothing but Willy lying about getting nob in the Whitehouse. What did the republican stacked house do? They impeached him, but that wasn't a witch hunt. I get why Trump supporters are attacking Mueller and the FBI, but when you consider how many people on Trumps election team his cabinet and his family who have resigned and or lied about their communication and financial dealings with Russia, the number of Trumps team that Mueller indicted and have pleaded guilty, the 400,000 discovery documents Mueller turned over to Manafort's defense team... yeah, I can see why they think this is a witch hunt. Shit, I need a fork and knife, because there's no way to swallow that much hypocrisy whole. Link to comment

I can't believe we haven't put a complete diplomatic pause in place for the duration of the investigation. There's been a year to cover up the tracks already. The fed up citizens were sold a shit sandwich and now they are defending their shit sandwich like an emperors new suit. 1 Link to comment

john510
Not at all, it was in reply to the statement that her death was avoidable. Which is a stupid thing to say in the first place. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was not foreseeable, not predictable so not avoidable. Every second of every day we make choices, go straight or turn the corner. Turn the corner and our life is oh so subtly changed from if we had gone straight. Take an extra few seconds to warm the car and you avoid a car running a stop sign. Drive off another time and you drive through an intersection safely and then a car runs the light that would have hit you if you had warmed the engine more. Things just happen, some are tragic. Not too much is avoidable unless you know something is about to happen. I don't mean precognition, I mean seeing a dark alley full of gang bangers and deciding to not go down it. You made no mention of the asshole that shot her.It was all her being in the wrong place. It was avoidable.Lock up the criminal or turn him over to the feds for deportation.I suppose you think the jury that freed the shooter made the right choice also ? What does the perpetrator have to do with it? The decision was correct enough. It's really hard to call it murder, look up the definition. I already commented on this. The best they could possibly do is manslaughter, careless use of a firearm, possibly possession of a firearm. Apparently the bullet traveled 60-80 feet ricocheting off the pavement. Pretty much the definition of an accident. In the face of such randomness how would it be less? Tragic though. You're angry that this person (asshole) was a felon, so that changes everything including the right to be innocent until proven guilty? This could have been done or happened to anyone. If a kid had done this you would be singing a vastly different tune. If Kate Steinle had been an illegal immigrant felon that was killed by a stray bullet, you wouldn't even give a shit. So again, how was this avoidable? Well she could have stayed home or not been such a perfect victim. Link to comment

So sometime between accidentally finding the gun and accidentally discharging the weapon that caused her death, he was shooting at marine animals. Link to comment

They did the right thing, and likely against their desires. Prosecutors fucked this case. Sad. Anyone shooting at seals or sea lions should be locked up as well. Or at least punished. Link to comment

Anti-gun, pro-PETA, pro-radical feminist Cali seats a liberal jury in the gun violence murder trial of woman killed by a man whose stated intent for discharging his stolen firearm into a crowded family recreation area was the murder of one of the tree-huggers' most beloved fur-babies, the seal. After they absolve the defendant of all his heinous acts of politically incorrect sins - gun crime, all violence against women and the attempted slaughter of a helpless sea creature - San Francisco smugly turns to the camera and says, "Fuck you, Drumpf! We abandoned our core beliefs just to flip you the middle finger!". "Why do you care!?! You're in Oklahoma!" say, didn't a college professor who bashed a protestor in the head from behind with a bike lock as he was exercising his free speech rights on the liberal Berkeley campus have a court date today?
