Plumber found guilty in slaughter of San Francisco family

A 41-year-old San Francisco plumber who was on a losing streak at local casinos and faced eviction for not paying his rent was found guilty Monday of slaughtering a family of five inside their Ingleside neighborhood home after targeting them for robbery.

On its seventh day of deliberations, the San Francisco Superior Court jury found Binh Thai Luc, an undocumented Vietnamese immigrant with a violent criminal past, guilty of five counts of murder in the massacre of the Lei family on March 23, 2012.

The victims’ bludgeoned bodies were found covered in blood and household cleaning products in various rooms of the row house on Howth Street, which had been flooded with water. The damage was so severe and the scene so chaotic that investigators didn’t initially know if they were dealing with a quintuple murder or a murder-suicide.

Prosecutors said Luc used a hammer to commit one of the worst mass homicides in modern San Francisco history, though the weapon was never found. The defendant was also found guilty of five counts of attempted robbery and two counts of burglary.

Because Luc was convicted of murder with special circumstances — in this case, lying in wait and committing multiple killings — he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. The charges made him eligible for the death penalty, but the district attorney’s office did not pursue that punishment. Judge Carol Yaggy will set a sentencing date Tuesday.

Illegal immigrant found guilty in murder of family of five in San Francisco

An illegal immigrant from Vietnam faces life in prison after being convicted Monday in the 2012 hammer-killing of a family of five after losing money at a casino earlier in the evening.

Binh Thai Luc, who had a violent criminal history and was supposed to be deported in 2006, was found guilty in the murders of a family of Chinese immigrants. He was also found guilty of five counts of attempted robbery and two counts of burglary.

Luc, who was in debt and served an eviction notice, killed the family during a robbery after he lost money at a casino on March 23, 2012.

Prosecutors said the family kept thousands of dollars in cash in the San Francisco home. Luc had more than $6,500 with him during his arrest. The jury was told that Luc settled his debt after the killings.

Luc spent a decade in prison for robbery and assault with a deadly weapon for the 1996 armed robbery of a Chinese restaurant. He was ordered to be deported from the U.S. to his native Vietnam after his release, but the Vietnamese government did not provide the proper documents.

U.S. federal immigration authorities released Luc into the community in 2006.

Deportation Fears Prompt Immigrants To Cancel Food Stamps

Officials at Manna Food Center in Montgomery County, Md., report that about 20 percent of the 561 families they have helped apply for food stamps, or SNAP benefits, in the past few months have asked that their cases be closed.

Maria Chavez, an outreach worker for Manna, says her immigrant clients are scared, especially if they're unauthorized parents getting SNAP benefits for their eligible American children.

"They say, 'I want to close my food stamp.' And I say, 'Why you want to close it?' They say, 'Well, because I am afraid that something [will] happen to me or they [will] deport me,' " says Chavez.

Jim Wengler, director of benefits access at Hunger Free New York City, says fewer immigrants have also been showing up recently at the 20 sites his group serves around the city. And he says some noncitizens — even those in the country legally — want all of their government benefits canceled, including Medicaid.

Should have told them he found the hammer on a bench and it accidentally started hitting people

Funny, Tragically, a 12-year-old niece was the one who found all five bodies. At 7:14am she was heard running from her house screaming Mommy Bloody! Mommy Bloody!

San Francisco became a Sanctuary City under moon beam on Nov 19, 2016. This mass homicide of a Vietnamese immigrant family committed by a undocumented Vietnamese immigrant happened in 2012.

Here's what Fox "real" news left out:

"Before the killings, Luc was convicted in 1998 of committing an armed robbery at a Chinese restaurant in San Jose. After he served eight years in San Quentin State Prison, officials handed him over to Bush's federal immigration authorities for deportation back to his home country of Vietnam. Vietnamese authorities, however, refused to provide Luc with travel documents, and he was released from custody as required by federal law." "He was released into the Bay Area by Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE officials in 2006."

Not likely Bama will stoop to electing a Democrat, but I still think for most Republicans there, Moore has become a bitter ugly pill to swallow. Bannan's sure humping a country pig with his balls stretched clear across Alabama. He knows what's riding on this for Trump's political future, and it's all hinging on a feckless little ass hat who will tante the Republican party for the foreseeable future. If you're looking to bring down the Republican establishment though, your dream is coming true.

Moore rode in to the polling place on horseback. Ha! Show. Almost a shame he lost. Would have been fun to watch the ethics review. But really, I'm happy for Alabama. This guy put his religion over his sworn duty time and again. Why hire a guy that won't do his job.

Wrong:

1985: Mayor Dianne Feinstein signed legislation designating San Francisco as a sanctuary city for immigrants seeking asylum from El Salvador and Guatemala.

Brown is a cook, but conservatives have to learn to respect liberal state's rights too.

I respect him and trust him as far as I can throw him! And I don't have to learn anything, I have the same rights, good or bad and that is that.
