Um yes, I do. N. Korea is really not a big problem. And this coming from someone who just listened to the nuclear warning sirens test yesterday. If you believe you are going to see more hardship in your life from N. Korea, than economic hardship/debt. You have swallowed the bait. We spend half of our tax revenue on defense budget and military discredit art spending. Japan, to give you an idea, just voted to spend over 1% of theirs...

What makes you so confident? They are launching ICBM's every month.. and testing nukes. Both which are showing great improvements.

There is a reason we are the most powerful country in the world, and it's not because of all the cool people within our borders.

Now.. not to say there isn't waste at every level of government.. you could skim the fat a bit and there is a good chance that will happen.

"Reminder to all: tax rates are merely legal minimums. You are free to send in as much as you'd like." -pat sajak

Don't like the Obama playbook.. sucks when you change the rules to suit your current needs but forget the left won't be in control forever.

...so are okay with the rich and corporations getting a huge tax break?

The military industrial complex's lobbyists got their money's worth out of the terrorist / N Korean threat. $Trillions bilked, zero accomplished.

The banking industry lobbyists got their money's worth out of killing Glass Steagall / Dodd Frank. $Trillions bilked, zero accomplished.

The 1% have feathered their family nests for generations to come, and what did we get from their efforts? Massive recession and $55K in debt for every man woman and child. Is this free market capitalism or neo-feudalism?

Businesses are getting bent over backwards. A lot of that is Oregon taxes though.

If I'm getting a tax cut, I'm not complaining. But I dont claim to know the ins and outs of the bill or tax law in general. I stated that days ago.. I take it you don't either.

I take it you read the bill yourself, front to back?

I calculated a cut of $3500-4300 with only a standard deduction. We'll see if that pans out and if it can actually be filed on a single notecard. Calculator was very simple.

I don't think I'd feel any clearer after reading the bill. Taxes are confusing. I've got business and income taxes. I'm basically waiting to see what it holds. The end result is the same, I pay it. The part that is off for me is the fiscally responsible geared people are getting behind such a shortfall. I know the stated goal/strategy, I just wish they attacked more methodically and with slower precision. We shall see.

The tax bill is in reconciliation between the house of representatives, and the senate.  What will matter to us is the bill that gets signed by the president, later.

Tax revenue into the government is dynamic.  The numbers we are being told are based based on a static estimate, by the congressional budget office.  If taxes are lowered, the revenue in many cases actually goes up, because more total income is made, and a lower percentage rate of a greatly higher total income means more total revenue.

Put another way, lets say only 1% of the unemployed people get a job.  They start paying taxes, and also no longer need welfare from the government, and therefore the revenue goes up, and the amount the government has to pay out drops.  That change to the government revenue will be higher than 1%.

Mueller's Top FBI Agent Probing Clinton Emails, Russian-Collusion "Removed" After Anti-Trump Texts Found

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's top FBI investigator into 'Russian meddling' and Clinton emails has been removed from the probe reportedly due to the discovery of anti-Trump text messages exchanged with a colleague (whom he happened to be having an extra-marital affair with).

FBI veteran, Peter Strzok, considered "one of the most experienced and trusted FBI counterintel investigators" according to the NYT, and who was tapped by Mueller to help lead the probe of Russian meddling in last year's presidential election, after helping lead the investigation into whether Hillary Clinton mishandled classified information on her private email account, has left Mueller's team.

FBI Agent Who Supervised Trump-Russia Probe Reportedly Sent Anti-Trump Text Messages

Strzok was a major player in the Clinton email and Trump-Russia investigations.

He was the FBI’s lead investigator on the Clinton email investigation, so much so that he interviewed the former secretary of state on July 2, 2016.

Days later, then-FBI Director James Comey announced that he would not be recommending charges against Clinton for mishandling classified information on her private email server.

The Times also reported that Strzok relied on information provided to the FBI by Christopher Steele, the former British spy who was hired by an opposition research firm working for the Clinton campaign to investigate Trump’s Russia activities.

Feudalism is pretty accurate in many aspects, I think you can argue.

Global gov and banking, no cash , one religion and language is the plan.

Citizens with guns , represent freedom and liberty if only in the past. Like a manual transmission will represent driving when we make it to autonomous busses.

All the shit storms are a wake up call. Some reform needed to be passed Congress for morale.

God bless good ole merica

I don't consider Social Security an "entitlement" as I have paid into it over the past 35 years with the fuzzy expectation that it will be there when it is my turn to collect.

I think I should try and get disability now so I can get my money now.

Obtaining disability is pain in the ass and one has to jump through a ton of hoops...but Social Security will not be there for me in the future if these craven cowards on Capitol Hill have their way.

BTW, Paul Ryan took advantage of Social Security in his youth (it's a fact no matter how much he promotes a "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" hypocritical attitude).

Sorry white people, but trying too hard not to be racist is low-key kind of racist

Before you yell, let me explain

Adopting black slang when trying to appeal to a black audience is, unfortunately, kinda racist and definitely appropriative, even if you're doing it because you think it's cool or even (yikes) trying to make someone else feel more comfortable.

Then there are white women who appreciate yoga a little bit too much, the kind who devote entire Instagram feeds to their "practice" and flood the #chakra hashtag. Or white students who take a spring break trip to Thailand and come back to school two weeks later rocking elephant pants and a big ol' Buddha tattoo, because Eastern religion is so much more chill.

But we kind of know that stuff is bad now, right? Because white people are into busting racism now, and they're ready to point it out anywhere they see it, especially online, even when the people of color who they're supposedly defending don't really see… anything.

When white people bend over backwards to "expose" Riverdale star Lili Reinhart for loving blackface when she really just wanted to dress up like a demon or get mad that Lena Dunham's baby on Girls wasn't actually Pakistani even though he was on air for literally 30 seconds and is also a fucking baby, it's not "woke." It's stupid, and you look stupid doing it.

If you have to cite your sources in a bibliography to explain why a Selena Gomez music video is damaging to New Zealand's indigenous population even though you didn't know it wasn't a part of Australia until like two months ago, you need to calm down.

If NK was really a nuclear threat something would have been done by now.

The SK capitol is only somewhat within some rocket launcher range and totally out of range or artillery. The US would be wise to strike the visible or known artillery/rocket/barracks positions and be ready for those that expose themselves for retaliatory strikes. Couple this with cyber and communications disruption and infrastructure destruction leading south to the DMV. Time this to coincide with all out attack of the nuclear testing and storage and missile sites. Target Kim and second in command (if any) to take out the leadership. I doubt Kim has many left that would be willing to carry on if he was gone. There is historic precedent for a first strike against tyrannical regimes.

Also, repubs. should definitely not underestimate a properly mobilized VOTING senior class if they plan on laying waste to Social Security and Medicare.

Are these the same seniors who shocked hilldawg and her pups by flipping Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan for Trump in '16? Them old farts got pretty pissy after Obama raided Medicare to fund the ACA.

...sounds too easy, the norths huge artillary are well hidden in mountains terrains. Thousands are aimed at Seoul. Even if u target Kim, who will take over. Its a no win situation. China, Russia will get involved they share a border with n. Korea. Japan will get involved and other countries.

That's a real douchebag comment about Ryan receiving SS benefits. His father died when he was 16.Which meant he got a few small payments until he was 18.I'm no Ryan fan but claiming Ryan "took advantage" is bullshit.Do you think the money Paul Ryan got outweighed what his father contributed ? My father passed when i was almost 18,i got one check for $1,100 bucks.Wow that sure fixed things right up.And you speak of taking advantage with disability.SMH.

...I don't either, social security is not an entitlement. Govt. Takes it out of ones paycheck and its one of the biggest ponzie schemes. First, they raised the age of retirement now there's plan of cutting the benefits some. You see if they give corporations a tax break, somebody has to pay. As mentioned before, Trumpcheetos tax bill is robbing peter to pay Paul. You don't need to see the specifics but you can see the wrting in the wall.

And since you were taxed on the full salary and had no offset for the social security with held, you were promised the payout would be tax free.  How long did that last ?  You are taxed on the money you deposit and again when you withdraw it.
