paradime
Would any of you be happier with a tax increase ? My taxes will increase under this corporate welfare plan. what you think are middle class tax breaks are temporary deferments. Only the Corp tax cuts are permanent. I've been paying into social security my whole fucking life and now that I'm closing in on needing medicare it's being cut so we can give corporations a 30% tax break. WHAT THE FUCK DO I HAVE TO BE HAPPY ABOUT???? The corporate tax rate in my lifetime Now that the economy is recovering from the last round of Monopoly game deregulation, here we go again. Forgive me if I'm not sharing in all the short sighted pea brain enthusiasm. Maybe I'm missing something here, please tell me how this is fiscally responsible. Link to comment
DanielC
If this tax bill repeals the mandate that I have to buy health insurance, that is a savings right there. I do not think there has ever been a bigger break for corporations than the entire population of the USA being forced to give insurance companies money for insurance plans with deductibles so large, you need a major health crises before the insurance starts to pay. 2 Link to comment
paradime
Great, now I have to subsidize DanielC's healthcare too. 1 Link to comment
DanielC
You are not subsidising my heath care. Last time I needed health care, I paid the hospital myself. If you subsidising anyone, it is insurance corporations. 1 Link to comment
Jesse C.
Its about ramming it down their throat, don't give them time to read it and make a conscious decision, viola you have a half bake tax bill. Wow, Democrats don't like it when you use their play book on them, eh? 1 Link to comment

john510
At this point it don't mattter, with the half bake tax bill aren't you limited on how much you can put away with your 401k and if you have 403b, deferred comp, you will be tax now than later when you start wdrawing. The rich and corporations will benefit much more than the middle class. Corporations will get less tax with the hopes that they spread this wealth by hoping they give their workers a raise, hence trickle down economics. Further, the new tax plan by design will cause about 1.5 trillion dollars of defecit. So John510, educate me in how this tax bill will help the middle class even when the GOP said that it will. You were already limited to a certain amount for IRA contributions.I haven't made any comments supporting this new tax bill.I know i would like to pay less even though i don't feel like i'm being screwed(except here in Cali).Do you think we'd be better off keeping the corporate tax rates high so corporations move out of the country, manufacture overseas and pay no taxes ? I'm no economic wizard but i'm smart enough to know when i pay less taxes i've kept more of MY money. john510
Time to read it leads to more and more and more discussion and viola... NO tax bill. At one time people would have been willing to tighten their belts for the greater good. Some still do today. Instead, everyone wants something for nothing and the tax man is put off to visit our children or children's children. Go visit what your grandparents did and suffered through in WW2 for the war effort. Shortages of everything, victory gardens, scrap metal drives, war bond drives, rubber drives, rationing of gas and tires, things like butter and eggs. If a tax increase resulted in lowering the national dept even if over a generation... people might. But I doubt it as everyone sees everyone else as cheating. If we all suffered equally it might work. People are used to living well and they won't give it up. Especially the useless ones in our society.. My grandparents told me about the WW2 rationing stuff. It must have been tough. Our society now wouldn't handle it well.As far as the tax cut and national debt go,i would be happy to give the government a couple hundred bucks(probably more) if the national debt were eliminated and the younger generations wouldn't end up screwed. But we know that will never happen. 1 Link to comment
thisismatt
A couple hundred bucks? Your current share is $63652.70 give or take if you count everyone equally (and a little less if you count illegals). 2 Link to comment
Jesse C.
..what makes u so sure im a Democrat? Nothing really, I am just mainly commenting on how the Democrats are crying about not seeing it all and the notes made on the paperwork. But, they did have time and chose to do nothing, like the Republicans with the ACA At least the Republicans know what is in the bill. Good or bad. Plus, didn't you pretty much claim to be a Libertarian or have libertarian like tendencies? Link to comment

Your current share is $63652.70 give or take if you count everyone equally (and a little less if you count illegals). I think it's $18,000,000,000,000. (trillion) for 323,000,000 people or over $55,000 for every person including skid row bums and crack whores, welfareees, retired etc.. So a two child household would owe $620,000 but would also have to pay for grandma and drug addict brother in law. Link to comment

And this coming from someone who just listened to the nuclear warning sirens test yesterday. If you believe you are going to see more hardship in your life from N. Korea, than economic hardship/debt. You have swallowed the bait. We spend half of our tax revenue on defense budget and military discredit art spending. Japan, to give you an idea, just voted to spend over 1% of theirs...
