Washington is stacked with a bunch of attention hungry puppets vying for a bigger part on the political stage. Let's not forget, the Dumb Bitch that opened this grotesquely disrespectful twist in the plot was Trump with his "other president's didn't call" comment. That's an open cattle call for a new part in the drama, and the runt Dem congresswoman from Florida found her way onto the stage, and the Whitehouse gave her the spot light and mic. The sad thing is, none of this is to bring sympathetic attention to the families of solders who gave their lives in service to our country. It's all been self promotion PR grandstanding on their bodies. Breaks my heart that Kelly got sucked into this shit show. Like a good solder he demonstrates what honor looks like by felling on his sward for his commander. Personally I think it illustrates a profound lack of integrity in leadership that Kelly took responsibility for Trump's poor choice of words. One thing for God Damn sure, the American de-evolution will be televised.

What poor choice of words. They released the audio tape. Maybe you should hear it now or again.

Are you two suggesting this sanctuary city thing isn't protecting criminals ? it blows me away that any elected Government employee (federal or state) would want to protect somebody that the first thing they do is break the law to get here. What's worse is a state or city purposely undermining federal authority to help a law breaker. What benefit is there to this ? votes ?

Are you suggests the intent is to protect criminals?

You and I both know the sanctuary thing is a shitty idea, but it's intended to protect productive law abiding folks from federal deportation.

Is it flawed? Yes.

Is it manufactured buy the liberal establishment for political purposes? Yes

Is the right twisting this way the hell out of proportion for political purposes? Yes

Am I going to play the devil's advocate so we can have another pointless argument? No

I haven't heard the phone conversation, but the statement about other presidents was a poor choice IMO.

What was the point of this post?

politically correct leftists engaged in cultural cannibalism. in the old days, they called out their enemies but gave their allies a pass. now, they can't refrain from PC nitpicking and destroying one another.

Cross opposed Trump before the nomination.

Cross pledged his own cash to fight Trump.

His accuser said nothing for ten years.

She is a rabid anti-Trumper but when she was given the choice of remaining quiet (after a decade of doing so) and thus allowing a fellow but more famous anti-Trumper to continue the good fight she elected to knock the legs out from underneath him for her own personal justice.

this suggests that the long-established pattern of leftists tolerating abuse from their own in silent solidarity to further the greater cause against their enemies is coming to an end. their ranks are breaking. their façade is crumbling. As someone who despises Hollywood hypocrisy I take great pleasure in watching them finally reveal themselves and their colleagues to the public in ways that damage their own industry and destroy the arrogance of actors who claim to be holier than thou but then casually use racial slurs and grope women in private.

In short, PC culture is finally dying in Hollywood (where it was born) but not before their society thoroughly emotionally disembowels one another with its broken shards.

feels good, man!

funny how illegal immigration can morph into a non-federal call when dems want them to stay.

Obama administration sues Arizona over immigration law

July 6, 2010

The lawsuit is part of a broader approach by President Barack Obama to deal with the 10.8 million illegal immigrants believed to be in the country, arguing that immigration is the responsibility of the federal government not each state.

“Seeking to address the issue through a patchwork of state laws will only create more problems than it solves,” U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, said in a statement.

The Justice Department acknowledged that Arizona legislators had “legitimate concerns” about illegal immigration but noted that the U.S. Constitution gave the federal government sole authority over immigration matters.

wait a tic! Obama is no longer president but Trump can use this same precedent to end local meddling in federal jurisdiction!

This one got pumped out to try to save face, but it's the wrong call to the wrong widow of the wrong soldier.

It was pretty clear that it was from April and a different person.

But I think it sets a precedent for how those calls go, and note he was not advertising he did these calls, he just did them. Did you actually listen to the call? Trump sounds very sincere and natural, careful to let the widow control the pace of the conversation.

But what you should really ask yourself, is why is this even a newsworthy topic? Whose agenda does it advance?

A letter or a call is nice. A letter is tangible and lasts forever, though a call is extremely personal and a nice touch that also lasts forever. It doesn't have to be right away either... it may or may not intrude on their grief. In the end it's the thought that counts.

I agree with all of that. News agencies have been running it on their feeds right now. But that could be an automated response to searches and views as well. I thought the call went as well as could be expected.

One way or another... no good will come of this. It will be boring and mundane and everyone (most specially the conspiracy theorists) will blame Trump for the let down. May even say this is also a cover up....... of a cover up. He should just let things fall out naturally but I think he just can't help himself..
