ICE Detainer Issued for Suspected Wine Country Arsonist in Sonoma Jail

The U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) issued a detainer request on the Sonoma County Jail for Jesus Fabian Gonzalez, who was arrested Sunday on suspicion of arson in Wine Country fires that have killed at least 40 residents.

Breitbart News reported earlier this week that Sonoma County Sheriffs had arrested Jesus Fabian Gonzalez, 29, at Maxwell Regional Park in Sonoma County after a series of reports of ongoing fires in the region. Mr. Gonzalez was observed around 3:00 p.m. PDT wearing a jacket and walking “out of the creek area and a plume of smoke behind him,” according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

Mr. Gonzalez, who is homeless and reportedly known by law enforcement to have been living under a nearby bridge, claimed he was cold and had lit the fire to stay warm. But it was a balmy 78 degrees when he and the plume of smoke were first observed.

Mr. Gonzalez was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for suspicion of felony arson. His bail was set at a steep $110,000, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff Public Information Officer.

A lot more political hay to come from that story.

California fires: Sheriff rips conservative media on 'crazy' arrest rumor

Crum said the only questions Breitbart News and InfoWars asked were about Gonzalez's ethnicity and whether Immigration and Customs Enforcement had placed a detainer on him, which would hold him for an additional 48 hours at the jail.

Crum said there is a detainer request on Gonzalez, but the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office would not be complying with it.

California county jails comply with the TRUST Act, which went into effect in 2014, and prevents them from holding individuals solely based on their immigration status. Gonzalez has not had a felony or misdemeanor conviction in the past five years, Crum said, but would instead be headed to Ventura County where he has a warrant out for his arrest.

Gonzalez is being held in the Sonoma County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to an online jail roster.

Sheriff Crum seems quite dedicated to the California sanctuary policies that led to the deaths of 31 people and the devastation of more than 50,000 acres. I'd wager he'd have less issues with locking up folks who use the wrong pronouns than he does denouncing an arsonist.

Has it been determined that this is arson? Probably a lot of insurance and aid might be affected if this was a natural event rather than a deliberate crime. A lot of anger can be directed at an arsonist whereas an act of god causes impotent rage. Just running that POS 'news' story has prejudiced almost anyone who reads it. It wouldn't be the first time a homeless person was ramrodded into jail.

Nothing will happen since Obama was liberal Christ and all his disciples could commit crime without worry of ever getting in trouble. So the senate judiciary will spend money on this and then fade it into nothingness.

I want to hear what the liberal rationalizers and apologizers have to say now?

Mueller needs to be fired and then put under investigation for his role in the whole mess. Sessions sounds like he was protecting the club, s he seems to have a little swamp rot going on.

The optics from firing Mueller would be pretty rough.. but something needs to happen.

Optics among political surrogates and liberal screechers hoping for Trump to have been colluding might get all panty tied. ( Al Frankin is a scuz cunt.) I am watching the Judiciary Committee hearing right now. Still pushing Trump collusion even when there is insufficient evidence PERIOD. Yet now FBI documents show proven collusion from his own party......Fucking rich.

Mueller looks dirty. He was overseeing the FBI while this was going on and was aware of such a high profile investigation, but followed the order of Obama to allow a coverup....
