California slipping further and further into the Liberal Abyss. Suing on an environmental facade, this just reeks of hypocrisy. if the environment was such an issue, then why have they not fixed all the shit flowing in from Mexico via the Tijuana river? But yet, the Wall is going to create more environmental hazards.

What a bunch of fuckheads!

or because we think our opinions is the truth and we think the world will be a better place if our opinions are utilized. But a lot of times we look for information that backs up our values or opinions, hence confirmation bias. Perhaps better we like to ruffle others views and we feel safe venting our frustration here at Ratsun. Carry on.

There's a difference between an opinion and truth.Having an opinion about a truth does not make it untrue.

An opinion, by definition, is never wrong. Even if it contradicts a known truth or falsehood. An opinion, often based on little or no facts and more of a feeling can influence others and topple an accepted truth/falsehood. What's true today may not be true tomorrow.

The point about facts and where you get them..? A lot of times we don't look deep enough into things or challenge what we think.

When it comes to convincing seems like people usually fight getting told what to think, ironically that's happening on a big scale in America etc. and is one of the topics here??

We should throw all kinds of stuff out there for discussion, and try to stay positive and helpful cuz we make our own reality

The wrong feelings and emotions are getting in the way

It was rather amusing seeing the daca monster that queen Nancy help to create turn on her so viciously the other day, spurring her to do her Cartman impression: "Screw you guys, I'm going HOME!"  Something that they will be doing shortly, if there is any justice left in this den of iniquity.

Doctor Savage thinks this might drive her into a nervous breakdown, I tend to disagree; I'd imagine that she just necked another bottle of Black Label and it's like it never happened, freeing her to spout such inane shit as the parents did a great thing comment.

...true but it could still be a subjective reality. For instance, I like pralines and cream at baskin and Robbins and I swear up and down that it is their best flavor. My wife thinks other wise and she likes rocky road. So it boils down to preference or biases. Each indivudual will have their own taste of reality which is based on how they were raised, political beliefs, values, religious beliefs, what they pay attention to [subjective reality]. Main thing I believe is we don't go ape shut because others may believe other wise.

Here's the dangerous part...when people are so caught up with their sense of reality, they become so righteous, that others are seen as not humans or sub humans, and then its acceptable to harm or kill or damage properties. The situation becomes so dire that there is no turning back.

BTW this is the legal definition for wiretapping in NY:

New York Consolidated Laws, Penal Law - PEN § 250.00 Eavesdropping;  definitions of terms

1. “Wiretapping” means the intentional overhearing or recording of a telephonic or telegraphic communication by a person other than a sender or receiver thereof, without the consent of either the sender or receiver, by means of any instrument, device or equipment.  The normal operation of a telephone or telegraph corporation and the normal use of the services and facilities furnished by such corporation pursuant to its tariffs or necessary to protect the rights or property of said corporation shall not be deemed “wiretapping.”

Notice it says "sender or receiver" in the definition of the law in the location this took place.

Lets reiterate: BY New York Law: Wiretapping involves the "sender and receiver", therefore when Manafort talked to Trump on a wiretapped line, the Receiver "Trump" was being wiretapped.

How this conversation makes me feel:

I certainly appreciate this stab. It was a federal tap, not state, but I honestly can't find the legal definition for the Feds. I wouldn't be surprised if same

California pledges $30 million for Dreamers to pay for college, legal help

California leaders took another step to support “Dreamers” on Tuesday by pledging $30 million for legal services and financial aid to help undocumented young people threatened with deportation by the Trump administration.

Gov. Jerry Brown, State Sen. President pro Tempore Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) and Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) agreed to spend an additional $20 million on immigration legal services and $10 million on college financial aid for young people in California protected by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

Morning Report: It Just Got Easier to Raise Taxes in California

It just got a lot easier to raise taxes in California.

Now, if a group of citizens gather signatures to put a tax increase on the ballot for a specific purpose – something like building a football stadium, a convention center, or a bunch of low-income housing – it will only require approval of a simple majority of voters.

That means leaders have a significantly easier path to raise taxes, if they let private groups write the measure and pay for the signature-gathering effort.

The shift is the result of a ruling from the California Supreme Court released Monday. Scott Lewis broke down what the shift means for San Diego, where officials have a large and growing wish list for new stuff, and now a much easier way to pay for it.

I'm so sick of the "leaders" in this state that ignore/overturn what the

majority of the voters voted for.

They're supposed to be working for us,& what's best for our state,

no matter which party they represent.

...that's ideal, we live in a society where politicians are swayed by special interest and they do things that's going to get them votes so that they can ride the gravy train.
