It's amazing how much our representative syphon tax money into their own pockets. *Cough cough* california highway money *cough cough* I bet if they audited Epelosy, Boxer, and Moon Beam's private enterprises they would find a portion of the missing billions of federal tax money designated for roads and infrastructure.

 

We have a system designed to launder working money into the accounts of the shysters blowing sunshine up our asses. Why else do these turds go into office with modest upper level wealth and retire with top 10% financial standing?

 

It absolutely absurd.

 

So no amount of sound reasoning as to why we need to increase taxes will ever sway me into saying yes to a levy. To get into office is as equal to winning the lottery for these fuckers.

Fuck taxes. Fuck taxing treats like soda. Manage the trillions brought in already or go get dry fucked.

Even if your income tax was reduced to a degree that you paid less net? I'd like to see no income tax at all, and fund government with corporate tax and commerce tax. Give us the freedom to not pay any tax if we want. Just don't buy shit. And as we buy shit that comes with a cost, we should pay taxes on it. The fucking mountain man growing food and riding a bike could essentially keep his income and not subsidize everyone else's bad habits.

Consumer taxation is not such a bad deal, but we already pay these taxes added into the cost of goods. Everything is taxed 8-10 times before it reaches the consumer currently. If it was as linear as your idea I would be all for it. 

 

I pass my projected tax and costs into my product prices as do almost every business.

                     We're getting another gas tax,plus raising vehicle license fees here in CA.

They say it's to fix the bridges,highways,etc.,but I'll bet a lot of it goes to fund the huge

retirement benefits that they've given to our State workers.

You will always be free to state your opinion, but please educate yourself before you accidentally mis-inform someone else. Diet is essential. And I won't say it's a lesser issue. But once again, you point out a differing issue to negate the stated issue. It in no way negates the issue of diet. Both are critical for health, and both are lacking. Health insurance rates drop for people who excersize regularly. Major junk food is another contributor to our society's poor health. In my opinion, taxing these items makes more sense than income.

Matt, You wouldn't believe the depth of corruption that flows threw Sacramento. Pelosi, Boxer, and Moon Beam are the most visible, but their political lackeys extend into mayors offices, state senate, and corporate executives contracting with the state. That being said, it's a total mischaracterization to say that's just a "liberal" thing. The same shit was going on with Deukmejian, Pete Wilson, Gray Davis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, all of them republican and all as slimy as any Democrat. Republican Congressman Duke Cunningham took California style corruption to all new heights. Once this guys shit was unraveled he was forced to resign from the House in 2005 after pleading guilty to accepting at least $2.4 million in bribes, under-reporting his taxable income, conspiracy to commit bribery, mail fraud, wire fraud and tax evasion aka money laundering.
