Any reform would be lip service full of back door loopholes True change could come at the end of a rifle, but the generations of people we have now don't have the philosophical sophistication of the constitutional authors. If there was to be a bloody revolution who is to say what would come out of the power vacuum created by the downfall of the rigged pay to play system? Would the citizens in favor of the constitution reestablish win or would the group who wants centralized power prevail? Money seems to be the true power and influence. 2 Link to comment
DaBlist
Unfortunately if the current system fell only a more corrupt one would move in. Enjoy your cars, family, & everyday as much as you can without looking to the government . 2 Link to comment
paradime
Relying on the intellectual capacity of the people to understand the issues before them is the inherent problem of democracy. I don't thing this generation is stupid, it's just that they are ill informed by design. Look at the ABSOLUTE SHIT news media, it is incredibly bias left or right, and is pure propaganda sensationalism. Even NPR is showing signs of narrowed story coverage. Our news is not a source of information, it is a product for making a profit for a corporation. 3 Link to comment
tr8er
The rich are adequately taxed on paper. Raising taxes on them is just banter to the poor and middle. Closing loopholes is the only way we should be taxing the rich. There are enough ways to go about not paying taxes legally that the rich generally don't pay as much as the middle class. When hiring a full time CPA is a net savings, you are rich. Also, that's a problem in my eyes... I'd like to see that fixed. 1 Link to comment

Cost is about $500.00 and is one of the best investments come quarterly and yearly. They don't have to be employed full time to give you the benefits of their profession. Link to comment
tr8er
Right. But most who are filing personal taxes "can do a good job getting their taxes right. A full time CPA directs how you spend and hold money, how you manage dependents, charities, and investments. It is tax motivated from a to b. Link to comment
Mattndew76
Right. But most who are filing personal taxes "can do a good job getting their taxes right. A full time CPA directs how you spend and hold money, how you manage dependents, charities, and investments. It is tax motivated from a to b. a CPA for $500.00 a year does this. My CPA tells me where and how much to spend on items related to my company that create the least amount of tax burden. She also knows all the dependant tax benefits, and investment strategies to protect my liquidity. You don't have to be rich to benefit from this service. Kind of a generalisation if you ask me, but I know what you mean. The super rich have a team of brains looking to scavenge as much from the system as possible.. I am just saying the benefits are not exclusive the rich and only the lazy never seek them out, Or are just satisfied with whatever the tax sheet says they get or pay out. 2 Link to comment
racerx
The rich also have a financial teams that helps them where to invest their money, they belong to exclusive clubs where they discuss how and where are upcoming markets are. A lot come from old school monies and attended ivy leagues. Own and live on properties that are highly exclusive and therefore their properties are light years ahead of my townhouse in the Bay Area and because they have money and influence, their children can attend exclusive and private high schools. They also have already been set up with trust funds and who knows what other stocks and bonds were set up for them. So, yes i can afford a cpa, but not the above. In other words, the rich and super rich is already way ahead while the middle class is getting squeeze. Not whining or anything but thats the way it is. No politician left or right will and can even the level playing field because of the nature of the beast, the rich and super rich, have more inclusive access to resources. Link to comment
