Corona521
so im looking for a carburetor for my '72 521, L16. any suggestions would help (brand, model #, place to buy, etc.) thanks Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Not much to replace it with, most L16s are getting scarce and well worn, but re-building is a cheap alternative. Get your hands dirty... so to speak. A new weber is about $300 but you get everything you need, gaskets, adapter plate, air filter etc. Weber Carbs Direct or Redline. A 32/36 would be more than big enough for an L16. Look for the direct replacement for an L16. I think the 521 had manual choke so you could skip the electric heater but they are convenient. Ryan Family 510
I ran a 32/36 on my 1.8. My boys and I are putting a l20b In our 69. Budget wise I am looking at the same, 32/36 progressive. I swapped the progressive for 1 side draft, don't remember the size (1983). I'm thinking for a daily driver for my 16 year olds that the down draft progressive should work just fine for now, any thoughts on that? Quote Link to comment
Ryan Family 510
Just to clarify, I put a single side draft weber on the 1.8. I think it was a 38. It ran great! Don't want to spend that kind of money right now so looking at a progressive for the L20B. Quote Link to comment
TENDRIL
32/36 and check the jetting, you will be ijust fine Quote Link to comment
EastBay521
if im not mistaken the truck came with a 32/36. it was missing the choke but it ran good.just spend 30 bucks on a rebuild kit and an hour to figure out and its good Quote Link to comment
