Oregon_PLG222
I have drum brakes on my 1960 truck. The wheel cylinders are Tokico. They have two cup type rubber plugs instead of the O-ring/washer type I have seen before (521). Does anyone know where to get these rubber parts? I couldn't find them on Rockauto or other sources I have used. Also, the shoes are different than 320/521. I ordered a set for the 320/521 and have them in hand. From what I've read here on Ratsun the 320/521 (and probably 620) are the same drums. But those have a large (2 1/2-3 inch) hole in the center of the drum. On my 222, the hole is much smaller and slips over the shaft and then a large lock nut goes on that, holding the drum on. The studs are on the drum. %5BIMG%5Dhttp://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg493/bldgplans/20140719_140215_zps62734051.jpg %5BIMG%5Dhttp://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg493/bldgplans/20140719_135706_zps0abf3be0.jpg %5BIMG%5Dhttp://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg493/bldgplans/20140719_141258_zpsb381a143.jpg %5BIMG%5Dhttp://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg493/bldgplans/20140719_141253_zpsfc9e82af.jpg Actually, the rubber cups are in pretty good shape. Unless I can locate a source for new ones, I'll likely hone/clean the cylinder and put it back together. The adjusters on the ends are in bad need of being broken loose and cleaned so they screw in and out. Any ideas on this old beauty? Quote Link to comment
Oregon_PLG222
I found the part once I put in wheel cylinder "cup". Dormans makes replacements. http://www.dormanproducts.com/itemdetail.aspx?ProductID=2878&SEName=3023 Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Good! Based on the 1960 date I was going to suggest Austin brake parts. Remember, these Datsuns were often referred to as "Those Japanese Austins." Now-a- days early Austin restorers are scrounging Datsun parts. Quote Link to comment
