Could someone tell me what this is? intake manifold z24

So was stripping my engine and noticed this hole of some sort, Just wondering is it meant to be there and will it affect anything? Cheers.

Its on the bottom right of the Carby, kind of squarish frame and circle hole. No stud holes or anything else.

Hard to tell by the pic but it looks like a water jacket entry or exit. Water goes thru the manifold to keep it from icing during cold weather months plus it's probably a smog device thingy..

My guess Its from where the manufacturer poured the aluminum into the cast mold. At times it will form a cavity from escaping gasses.

It's not on our intakes. Also you don't have an EGR mount on it either.

 

Yes the Z series has water warming and cooling but it doesn't go near the carb base.  About mid way between the head and the carb it exits the manifold and joins with the heater return hose and from there down to the front where the lower rad hose connects to the timing cover.

Hmm cheers guys as I won't be needing this for anything im guessing it should be ok to just stay there neutral.
