Nidraclark
I was going to replace the cracked mirror glass in my 620 mirror and figured it would be really easy since it just a flat mirror. I called and auto shop and was told that this glass is special and reflects a "softer" Image which comes with a high price tag. Does anyone know if this glass is different than standard mirror plate and if so a source? Thanks Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Check your local Nissan dealers parts department! If it's a standard Nissan part they can get it for you. If it's an aftermarket substitute, Good Luck! Quote Link to comment
DanielC
Try a glass shop. Quote Link to comment

Thanks Hmm never hear that before but have heard of a softer glass so that it can take the vibration and occasional hits without easily breaking. But ya a glass shop can hook you up. datzenmike
It's ordinary glass and breaks just as well. Softer refers to the mirror reflecting only 80% (or what ever the amount) of the light falling on it. You think headlights are bright in your side mirrors? Try replacing them with ordinary mirror glass!!! Give the dimensions to a glass shop and they will cut you something. Quote Link to comment
Nidraclark
I called a glass shop and was quoted about $100. I don't think making two cuts on a "less reflective than normal" mirror is worth that. What I am looking for is a source, probably online, for the uncut plate that a glass shop would have. I have searched but found nothing. Quote Link to comment
JoeCool
A new, smaller, normal sized mirror is a lot cheaper and would look better too. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The local shop cut me one and ground down the edge for our '07 FORD van. $30 Quote Link to comment
