jeu510
do you guys know if the s14 sr20de non turbo needs to see the speed sensor for it to run right? thats what i have in my 510 but after a mile or two of driving, it seems like it wont rev past 2500 rpm (just by the sound cus i dont have a tach hooked up yet). i've read up on some sr20 needing to see the speed sensor, but those were only the turbo models. any input is appreciated. thanks. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
KA swaps used to use an automatic ECU to eliminate the rev limiter. Quote Link to comment
jeu510
well, its not the rev limiter that im concerned about. it drives fine for a while, but then it starts bogging like its hitting the rev limiter. if i cycle the key off and back on, it will go away for another miles or so. ggzilla
The s14 sr20de non turbo does not need to see the speed sensor. Lots of swaps do with a standard speedo gear. Problem is when it came with optional Immobilizer. Quote Link to comment
jeu510
thanks guys...guess i'll need to look elsewhere for the hesitation/stumbling problems....i have a feeling it mite be my coolant temp sensor...anybody had this problem before with a bad temp sensor? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Test your temp sensor. When it is hot, is the resistance in spec? What code is your ecu throwing? Quote Link to comment
jeu510
the swap is in a 510 and i cant check for codes. i couldnt figure out how to hook up check engine light or any other device to check for codes. is there a way to check for codes? Quote Link to comment
