78 b210 power brake booster problems

So I have a 78 b210 non ac, automatic. Power brake booster went out I'm trying to install the new one but the rod length (from booster to master) is much too long even with the nut adjusted all the way down. The booster bolted up to the fire wall perfectly and same to the peddle. Also I noticed that the new booster has four studs coming out of it two long ones and two short ones. The long ones are positioned so my master bolts up to them. If I were even able to bolt it down all the way I believe the studs would hit the master. So I'm thinking autozone did not hook it up with the proper part. Should have tried rock auto... any help would be greatly appreciated guys

I meant the old one. Never seen a bad one, although I left the hose off one winter and a few bugs spent Christmas and New Year partying in there and the one way valve wasn't working... so no assist. Easy fix. .
