TerribleOne
Hello Ratsun! Fresh blood here, this is my first Datsun. I'll start off by saying the car is butt ugly but I just had to have it. :D I picked it up in late April, its a 77 with a Mazda 12a rotary. I started off by fixing the little things, rear hatch struts, correct ignition switch and working locks with one key! Then I got to the hood, at one point the car had hood pins so I went ahead and added hood pins. Ive been wanting to try the areocatch so... Then I picked up some proper wheels Started tinkering with the engine, the stock engine mounts were too soft so I picked up a set of Banzai-racing mounts. The mounting on these rotarys are so simple. Whoever did the swap actually didnt do too bad of a job. Then I noticed the header has been rubbing the Steering idler for a while. I bet those bushings get a little hot. Thinking I will just dent the header and maybe wrap the steering idler. Do they make a ball bearing kit for that idler? I was glad to find my battery tray isnt all rusted out, painted her up and added a PC680 Odyssey. I have one of these in my civic and love it. Next is the dash, I wanted to somewhat replicate the 1200 and 620 gauge cluster but didnt want to hack a nice dash up. So I did some searching and came up with this option. Its from a PT cruiser and will fit my speedhut 3 3/8 gauges. I just need to cut it up to fit decent. We'll see. I didnt want to hack my dash but the stock speedo layout is terrible. Anyway, more to come. First Dat and first rotary, I will have lots of questions coming. Plan to have the car at Canby. 5 Quote Link to comment

Spoona_Jay21
If you find your car missing.... It wasn't me.... But I might have a flat black rotary B soon after..... JK :P LOVE this thing, to me probably the coolest B210 I have ever seen! Exactly what I would want in one. 1 Quote Link to comment

Yep, use to ride a lot. Not so much anymore lol. If you find your car missing.... It wasn't me.... But I might have a flat black rotary B soon after..... I still need to figure out the fuel level sensor and drop my tank. It leaks from the top somewhere. While on the subject what is this to the left? A vent tube? And whats with all the extra tubes around the filler? Looks like they are connected to a box inside the quarterpanel. Can I remove all that crap? 1 Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
Yep, use to ride a lot. Not so much anymore lol. +1, good man. Around 2007? 08? I came to the conclusion that I just can't keep up any more. Still love to ride bikes though, of any kind. I'll never give that up. Quote Link to comment

Hopefully I can mock up the pt cruiser bezel tonight. I sure hope I can make it work. Almost wish I would have went with 4" instead of the 3 3/8. They just seem a little small to me. TerribleOne
Looks great, good luck! What kind of gauges are they? Gauges are speedhut. http://www.speedhut.com/ Unfortunately my idea for the gauge mounting isnt going to work so i'm just going to half ass mount them for now. I'll take some pictures tonight. TerribleOne
Played with the gauges a little bit. I'm having a little issue with the tach, its fluctuating a lot and I dont think I have the pulse per rev correct. I'll clean up the wiring tonight and hopefully get the dash buttoned up. Ive had all kinds of little gremlins with the thing, I hope it just holds together for the weekend. Quote Link to comment
TheGam1ngK1ng
You could do something like this if you don't want a racing style gauge setup. Its not to hard and It looks pretty cool Quote Link to comment
jaime.g
Cool car. I believe I saw the posts the previous owner made on this one on another site. I was curious how the mounts were done. I've got a 13b suspended in my b210 engine bay at the moment awaiting mounts to be fabricated. Quote Link to comment
