Back to the muffler shop to get the new headers welded up to the exhaust.. Little custom work was needed to clear the pinion arm  :thumbup:

Don't use polyurethane for the TC rod bushings, it is too stiff. Several have had the rod itself snap off from using poly bushings. 

 

The material is too stiff, it doesn't flex enough. The TC rod itself starts flexing and it end up braking off the threaded end where the OD steps for the bushing hardware.

not much more work done on the car so far, i ripped out the rest of the interior panels though and have just been gathering parts for the next stage of the build.

not much to update, mostly just collecting parts and trying to save $$$$ in order to finish my coilover swap!!!!!!!!!!!!!

was able to get my dust covers for the brakes hammered back into shape and primed as well as the hubs.. still needs paint but weather has been rainy and cold for a while now!!

Despite all the beer this weekend i did manage to make some progress in preparation for swapping the 280zx coilovers and brakes.

 

Started off cleaning up the brake brackets in the sand blaster and them 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of black engine paint  :thumbup:

a few nice coats of primer and called it a night, still need to weld on the spring rings for coilovers and still need the following parts:

 

-calipers

-rotors

-wheel bearings

Decided FUCK the muffler guy.....

 

..........I'm welding these myself.....

 

Had to make sure they sit straight......

So I flipped it upside down with the sleeve on so it would sit flush with the top of the strut housing......
