Is that what it is called? Tension rod. The bushings on the ends of the tension rod are wider and narrower than the swaybar bushings for sure. They look more like a cab mount bushing but smaller. The bushings in the link look somewhat similar, but they are different. Can the correct bushing be sourced? Or is it a make something work kind of situation.

I wouldn't replace with poly bushings. Use rubber. Poly are very firm and almost rock hard and the tension rod must be able to swing up and down with the lower control arm movement. Poly will resist this and the tension rod is forced to bend causing metal fatigue and failure. As the tension rod forms one side of a structurally strong triangle, it's failure could be catastrophic while driving.

Have any idea where I can find rubber bushings that will work? Having them be soft sounds right. As they age and get harder you can hear the rod creak against the metal especially when it is cold. The last thing I want is a failure, I do drive this thing almost everyday.

Can anyone verify that the bushings for a 78-79 620 are the same used in the 1974 620? Did they change the rods at all when they went to disk brake? I found a source for 78-79 radius rod bushings and I'm hoping they are interchangeable.
