76 fastback
Looking for L.E.D's for my 76 B210. For the side markers and tail lights. The kind that goes right in the socket. Dose any body out their run these? And do they look that much better? And what about these new stile looking head lights ( the ones that look very updated and clear with no texture in the lens) are they a good way to go? I do like the look. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
The "textured" headlight lenses are designed to correct for the light beam distortion of the high and low beam element locations relative to the parabolic reflector foci [no that's not a dirty word] using "standard' Tungsten element light sources. Not unlike the Fresnell [google it] lamp lenses in lighthouses [if any still exist]. Headlight LED replacements vary in their output spectrum over the required headlight legal requirements, [and vary depending on whether you use your factory reflector assembly or an unmentionable "BMW" assembly with all its mounting and grounding problems] so you would need to ensure that any replacement headlight source lamps or LEDs met current legal requirements! With or without Tungsten lamp sources [like your Textured lens covers] or LED/High output "Blue" elements which may require "clear" lamp covers. Find out before you buy and the Highway Patrol points out that you goofed. Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
They look worse. The small side blinkers look the same, but in the back the LED won't cover the same area with even brightness. To use less energy, get regular leds, and put in a special blinker can. The look depends in which leds you get. There are many different styles Quote Link to comment
