New Truck need help.

Just got this last week for $500. New exhaust pipe and muffler and it runs great. Only 70,000 original miles on it. Installed a nice audio system, now I am ready to ditch the bench seat for bucket seats.  Any suggestions.

Yes. The most commonly preventable problem with the Z24 motor is blowing the head gasket at 100K. The solution is to re-torque the head bolts at every tune up or once a year.

 

Motor dead cold.

Loosen only one bolt at a time and tighten to 60 ft. Lbs.

Any order you wish but has to be one at a time.

How simple is that?

 

 

Standard cab can be a problem as thick buckets will be back against the rear window. Choose wisely.

i used buckets outta a 98 dodge neon. very slight mods. to installing them

Does anyone know if there are any after market interior parts for 1986 720 z24 2.4l. I found dashs but I am wanting to change the color of the whole interior. I need kicker panel on up.

ebay has alot of oem parts, some cheap and some not. after market can be iffy from my experience. they say it bolts right up but i say different to that. theres always modifying to be made

as far as seats i got mine from an isuzu rodeo, 02 i believe. fit perfect.  they do make you sit a little bit higher in the cab but they are a very nice upgrade as far as comfort.

I have had no luck around here for the seat suggestions thanks for the info. I am going to keep looking. I would also like to change the headlights to Halogen bulbs, I have seen many different ones suggestions greatly appreciated. I have a tail light lens cracked and will change them also, thinking some thing a little more sporty.

Nah, He is just a old man who has no one else and knew I would take care of it. I love it, I hope I can do it justice.

Ordered the tail lights just now will update pics when they come in and I install them. Wheels are next, I dont understand why these have 6 lugs kind of narrows the options a bit.

I have heard that early 90's Camaro seats fit pretty well and give you that lower seating that many folks want.  I have not replaced mine yet, but I have been slowly noodling away at the running parts on my 80 720.  Just offering another avenue for seats.

Thanks I have found a pair of 91 Z28 black & grey seats. Going to pick them up Wednseday. Hopefully ill get those and the tail lights in by the end of the week.

Tell me how it goes, as seats are one of the first cosmetic things I have on my list....now that I have found a new front bumper.  That was a pain in the tuckus.
